FSX Airplanes reinstallation
« on: March 08, 2013, 04:47:53 pm »
I have inadvertently deleted the Airplanes folder from FSX, without realizing it, then I emptied the Recycle Bin, not realizing that my airplanes were now in there. So I ahve no visible backup. The airplanes folder included both native FSX airplanes and add-ons. I can "easily" re-install the add-ons from source files, but what about the native FSX airplanes? Is there anyway of reinstalling those without reinstalling FSX entirely?

I have FSX Deluxe Edition (2 CDs in a box) + FSX Acceleration (one more CD).

Elly

Thanks for the tip. It worked. Mind you, after I finished the repair of the base version, when I tried to run the simulation, I got a fatal error. I then ran SP1 and still got the error. Then I ran the Acceleration Repair, and it fixed it up for good. The repair left all my scenery addons intact. Now all I have left to do is install my airplane add-ons.

Incidentally, before doing these repairs, I turned off UAC and my anti-virus.
