GSX - P3D
« on: March 06, 2013, 03:04:22 pm »
Is there a fix, GSX is leaving Spawns, in P3D, when in Multi Player. This is  a big problem on our server.

Your explanation is not very clear. Please, describe it more precisely.

In any case, GSX doesn't know anything about multiplayer, it demands creation of objects to official Simconnect API calls, which means whether they are run in multiplayer or not, GSX doesn't know or have any control over it.

Do you see the same issue with FSX ?

We did not have this issue in FSX, but since changing the group to p3d, we have noticed a lot of spawns appear as we watched someone using GSX, I do hope we can solve this as i am a big fan. After a new conversation, with a group member, it was noted that in p3d, all vehicles & trucks get ID labels.

Yes, we noticed that too, and that might be a reason of the different behavior in multiplayer between FSX and P3D. I guess is something that should be reported to LM as a possible bug.

We are no longer using, GSX whilst in P3D multiplayer, but have now noticed that any FSDT airport, has vehicles, of it's own, and these also leave spawns. So as of this time, our user group, can no longer use any of the FSDT software, witch we are all, very unhappy about. If you can think of a possible fix. Such as an option to disable traffic, We would be the happiest bunch of simmers on the planet.  Thanks

They don't. P3D does it.

There's no possible fix, it's not a bug of the scenery, it's something that P3D does on its own and FSX doesn't.

Those are not just traffic, every 3d object in all our sceneries is created programmatically using Simconnect, and there's no other way to create an object other than the one we use, which is of course the one and only official sanctioned way through the SDK.

FSX doen't exhibit this behavior, so it's clearly a P3D specific problem, because it's to be expected that both would work the same, using the same (legal) Simconnect code that works correct AND per SDK specification, under FSX.

It's not the only difference in behavior between FSX and P3D. The transparent ATC menus also works differently, they stop to reply to key press if the menu is not in focus, while FSX the key continue to be processed as long the menu is displayed, even if the user clicked on a different window. This affects GSX and any other add-on that uses menus (including the default ATC menus), and it's also due to a P3D difference we can't do anything about it, it has to be fixed by LM.

We reported the menu problem more than 1 year ago, but it hasn't been fixed.

Hi guys, Is there any progress been made regarding this issue.  Do you know if P3D have been working on this so that the problem is fixed in their up and coming V2?
