Safedock - Concorde
« on: April 06, 2012, 09:11:36 am »
I had a question regarding the safedock system and the Concorde.  When I pull into the selected gate I get the initial guidance with the safedock system but then receive a "Fail ID" message.  Since the improvements were made for the FSL Concorde-X with the number 2 & 3 engine start prior to pushback, did the update include the safedock system recognizing the Concorde too or am I having an issue specific to my system?  In other words, is the Safedock system supposed to be recognizing the Concorde or is it not programed for this particular aircraft?  Thanks.

I don't think (might be wrong) that GSX controls docking systems at airports, only the Marshaller if there is not a docking system. The UK2000 Heathrow makes a point of mentioning that the docking systems there are compatible with Concorde

GSX can control the Safedock, but only in customized sceneries, like FSDT sceneries with docking systems. In that case, the Concorde is not recognized by our docking system, we would need to add explicit support for it.

Okay, thanks for the information.  I forgot to mention that I am running FSDT KDFW along with several other FSDT airports.  I also have several of the UK2000 airports.  It would be great to get that support for this classic aircraft.  Thanks for this great program!  It really adds to the FSX environment.  All of the PMDG aircraft run great with it.

Hi Umberto,

I appreciate this is an old thread but with the latest update to FSLabs ConcordeX the VAS usage is now much reduced. This is allowing us Concorde pilots to fly to and from DreamTeam airports without the need for a save and reload to regain valuable VAS.

Is it a lot of work to add SafeDock support for Concorde? I parked at gate 17 at PHNL after a 2hr 10m flight from FSDT's KLAX but wasn't given any distance readout at the gate. It would be the icing on the cake if this possible at all FSDT airports and I have most of them.

Concorde's ID for FS purposes is CONC should you decide to proceed with support. Please.  :)
Cheers,
Ray.

I was hoping for a reply from Umberto by now. If support can be provided for Boeing and Airbus why not Concorde? Is it really that difficult?  :(

It is on your list of 'supported aircraft'.  ;)

Umberto,

It's not like you to ignore a reasonable request. Can you please provide support for Concorde in regard to SafeDock?
Cheers,
Ray.

We are so busy finishing up both KMEM and the new GSX, that I hardly find the time to read my email, let alone replying to the forum.

I'll try to get hold of the last version of the Concorde to test this, but I cannot promise it will make it in the next update.  Note that, as soon we finally release KMEM and the new GSX, we'll resume the usual constant flow of small "Live Updates", that we cannot do right NOW, without screwing up everything (we simply made too many changes to be updated on the fly).

Hi Umberto,

Thanks for replying. I fully understand your situation. There's no immediate need for this functionality but if you could add it to your "to-do" list with maybe a delivery date before the end of the year that would keep me (and many others) happy.

Latest version of ConcordeX is v1.32. I'm sure you have Lefteris's contact details.  :)
Cheers,
Ray.

I'm hoping that since I last asked in May Umberto's workload has decreased sufficiently for him to look at getting Concorde to work with Safe Dock.

Any news please?
Cheers,
Ray.
