Hey guys,
I work at Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport. Out here the new terminal is pretty big news at the Airport and I got the chance to pull out my phone and snap some pictures without anyone noticing. (Or, caring, rather.) :p
Anyways, I was at T3 a while ago and decided to take some pictures because I know we have some pilots here that fly in and out of Vegas, and I figured they'd love to see what it's all about. Sorry about the quality, took it with a cell phone. The terminal itself is pretty nifty. It's 2 levels, Zero Level and Floor 2. (Floor 1 is the entrance shown in the picture below, which has elevators on either side leading to floors 2 and 0. Nothing else makes up floor 1.) Zero Level will make up Baggage Claim and Customs, Floor 2 will make up the International and Domestic Gates (1 through 15, skipping Gate 13 all together, to make 14 total gates).

I was walking when I took this one, so fail on my part) you can see the LONG corridor of the Terminal. All in all it's a giant, massive walkway from E1 to E15 running in a straight line. It's probably a good 2500 feet, but don't quote me.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/ssj14vegetajr/LASbad.png The International Section has some sweet Asian sit-down restaurants being built. I didn't take any more pictures of upstairs because the TSA screening managers were looking at me funny and I didn't want to get jumped. So instead I went out to the ramp. Here's a shot of Obama's Jet sitting in the Cargo area off the way. He stayed only for 95 minutes.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/ssj14vegetajr/LAS1.pngD Gates, where I (normally) work is right across from T3. Most the airlines from D will be moving to T3, leaving most the Bell (Nickname of one of the 4 arms of the D Gates) empty.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/ssj14vegetajr/LAS2.pngOne of the new spiffy Gates. Noticed the sign at the top is scratched out. (I think it used to say 58) It'll soon say E4.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/ssj14vegetajr/LAS3.pnghttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/ssj14vegetajr/las4.pngInteresting Fact here: Unlike the A, B, C, and D Gates (and T2) each gate at T3 (all 14 of them) can handle a 747-400. (Rumors are true!) - Now only E1 and E15 can handle an A380 (At least, they are the only two gates with the ''A380 Certified!" sticker on them.) but since few A380 operators fly to Vegas we won't worry about it.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/ssj14vegetajr/las6.pngFAA tower under construction in this view. Now, T3 is supposed to open and have its first official flight on June 27th - Anyone wanna hold bets on if they'll finish the Tower before then?
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/ssj14vegetajr/LAS5.pngThat pretty much ends the tour. I made it back to the parking garage above the AB Concourse in time to see Obama take off but I couldn't grab a shot in time. Instead, I'll leave you with a nice shot from the roof - I think it's a better view than the ramp, eh? [Yes guys, this picture is of Terminal 2. Its last flight is June 28th, after that they're going to blow it up!]
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/ssj14vegetajr/LAS8.pngHope you enjoyed, now back to work for me.
If you guys at FSDT ever want any shots from the ramp area, just e-mail me.
