My KLAX shots. Love the scenery!!! (FS9)
« on: October 27, 2011, 08:40:43 am »
A lot of people can't seem to get KLAX working in FS9 including a close friend. Something about missing buildings?? So here are 2 shots before bed showing just how damn good this scenery looks in FS9. One in night textures, and one in day textures.

Now compare that to Blueprint! Be patient FS9 people! Umberto and team will get it working for you soon!  ;D

How is the fps impact in comparison to the Cloud9 version?

Well my last demo flight was with CS757. The taxi and climbout was smooth as silk, but the approach wasn't so great. But I did install high res ground textures around the airport. So after I uninstall the textures I will check it out again. The smooth departure was before the installed textures.

Here is another beautiful shot. Or advertisement for HSBC!!!  :D

Also, it should be noted that this airport has dynamic shine!!! Note the shine on those windows. The shine goes away when you are in an area not visable to the sun in real time. What a treat!!

Say what you will about FS9, she is more beautiful than ever!  :o

EDIT: Auggghhhh!!! It looses quality like this!!! But okay, i'll play by the rules...

Those who live in L.A. know about the heavy fog we had last week... ::)

Thank you Skimmer!!!

This one was an attempt to look like a model airport. I am still learning how to do this properly. This is the first time I ever tried this so...

Wonder who would be the first to noticed it...yes, all metal and most of the glass surfaces have specular highlights, including smaller objects like light pylons, the metal fences around the airport, metal baggage carts, and many other. We tried to make it as similar as possible to the FSX version.

I admit, I was very plesently surprised! Looks like if we continue to get FS9 sceneries, we are getting enhanced features too! ;)

Umberto, are you at all pleased with FS9 sales so far??

They are decent, but way less than the FSX version. I'd say that, assuming it will continue this way, FSX represents right now about 80% of the market, the 737NGX was probably what gave it the biggest blow, and of course the new hardware that keeps coming out.

Is still too early to comment on the future, or if we could afford to support a sim with only 20% of the market share (today, but what will happen in 2012, when MS Flight will hopefully be released and Prepar3D maybe gained some traction ?), and in any case it's not really useful to commit on a decision for the *next* scenery today, considering that even KLAX itself was given a definite green light for FS9 only AFTER we started working on its conversion.

Well let's hope sales will continue to increase. It doesn't have AES yet ;)

Umberto, add me into FSX percentage, I just haven't purchased my copy yet because of other things going on right now.. Will be deffantly getting my version of KLAX for FSX here soon as possible though... So I'm going to be in that percentage for the FSX users.. I know some of you all who still are using FS9 love your FS9 but I love FSX even more & I don't think I could ever go back to FS9 after flying FSX.. Everything is so much more crispier & clearer & water looks fantastic with the waves.. I'm still yet too see birds.. I thought there was suppose to be birds in FSX.. I haven't seen any birds yet. Course I don't really want to see them on the end of the runway but i haven't seen them sitting on the jetbridge either..

Last thing I want is to have to try & do a Miracle landing on the Hudson like The US Airways pilot did but would be nice to see a bird on the jetway seeing when FSX came out they said there would be birds on it..
