I wonder what kind of processor ran that. :)

Probably not, but the faster the better. You will be a lot happier and have more head room in dense areas if you can OC your proc to 3.75 or better. I saw a world of difference when I went from 3.0ghz to 3.85ghz.

The biggest difference for me with a faster clock was flying into dense hubs like LAX or JFK with a lot of AI and heavy weather. At 3.0ghz I would sometimes get FPS into the mid teens flying the LDS767, now at 3.85 I rarely if ever drop below 20 FPS in any situation.

This is why I don't understand FSX and it's graphic engine. Why does need SO much power to ran properly?

I don't see why it's necessary to OC a 2.80 GHz I7 CPU.  :(

Probably just because its old code that doens't really take advantage of todays multi core processors.

However, OC'ing your cpu is not a big deal and is easier done than in the old days and a lot safer provided you keep an eye on your temps. Its the biggest "free" way to gain performance in FSX. You will never hear anyone saying to get a slower processor, its always been this way with MS flight sims. The faster the CPU the better and easier it will run.

Hopefully in the future if a new sim comes, it will be written to take better advantage of multicore procs.

Microsoft is not planning on making another flight simulator, Aerosoft is.
