Couatl64_MSFS.exe keeps crashing after updating to 2.8.8

As the topic suggests, after just having updated to version 2.8.8, I've had 2 Couatl crashes in a row after trying to start the refueling service. I'm the the PMDG 737-800 and was working fine yesterday when I was still on 2.8.7

This cannot possibly be related to the update.

The couatl64_MSFS.exe in version 2.8.8 is the same as version 2.8.7, something you can verify yourself by checking the date of the Digital Signature in the .exe Properties. Opposite to a normal file date/time, the date of the Digital Signature can't be forged or wrong, and you can see, it dates November 17th, that is 3 days before 2.8.7 came out.

Of course, as usual after any error report, I always verify what is being reported, so I tried a refueling (from Simbrief) with the PMDG 737-800 right now, and it worked perfectly fine.

For good measure, I tried twice in a row, no issues.

So no, it doesn't seem to be a problem of the update, it was just a coincidence but, since you haven't posted any error log or said if the simulator crashed too, it's difficult to say more.

Fact is, after the 3rd attempt when I chose another refueling operator, I didn't get a crash.

So maybe it was something with that specific refueling operator I chose the first 2 attempts. I was in LFKB and I can't recall the name of the refueling operator for the first 2 attempts from the top of my head but it was a local one suggested by GSX.

Anyway, all good now and to add some additional information, MSFS didn't crash.

Will try to get more information including the log file if I see the same thing happening again.

Any problem with the operator itself, would be logged as a script error, not a hard crash of the Couatl engine, which is usually caused by either the whole simulator crashing (but you said it's not your case), so it might be something else, possibly sound (but that couldn't change by operator), so it's likely the operator association was just a coincidence.
