Duplicate floating VGDSs
« on: January 29, 2023, 06:14:15 pm »
Umberto, I must be cursed or something. I was doing a flight out of the default KMCO gate 96 in the Fenix. Immediately after starting the flight, I used customize this parking position to add a TS42 VGDS with a L support and saved it.

It showed up in the scenery, but did not have any information displayed on it. I tried a few different variations of the Safedock system, and none of them had any information either. The airplane was not aligned with the center line of the parking, so I started the editor again to fix it.  When I moved farther away from the airplane to get a better view, I figured out why there was no display. It was on the OTHER VGDS about 100' or so above the one I can see from the cockpit.

Here is the contents of the only KMCO related file in my C:\Users\Pirate\AppData\Roaming\virtuali\GSX\MSFS\ folder.

If the scenery on that particular location is solid, which might also include the crash box for the building, the ground altitude there is not really on ground, so the VGDS ( or any other object created by GSX ), will be placed higher, because we need to place objects above ground ( otherwise they won't work on a sloped airport ), but in that particular point, the ground might be higher, due to the building crash box, which might not even be very precise.

Try to see if it works better if you move it farther from the wall, be sure you set the height from ground again, and restart GSX after exiting the editor.
