New Refueling Aircraft
« on: February 21, 2010, 07:25:11 am »
Just caught this video from fsxfleet on youtube.

That would be cool to actually refuel up to a basket.  Might be of interest to ask these guys where they got it?

Good luck getting fuel from a boom, you need a basket for the hornet.

Here is the KC-135 with a navy basket that I use.

The VRS rocks, I know - these guys are real pros and truly dedicated to realism against all the limitations of the Flight Simulator.

Capt...

Where did you get that KC w/navy refueling boom?  Is the fueling point right on the basket too?  I dont even care at what rate it delivers fuel, would just like for it to have the capability to refuel from the basket contact point and not have to drive all the way up to the tanker aircraft and almost crash up against it to get gas.

If we get it, and can have everyone install it, we could get our boy genius whiz kid Orion to remake the SFCarrier mission with that KC refueler instead of the default ones?  That would ROCK!!

I just finished an in-flight refueling gauge that can be installed on any aircraft and allows refueling in the air from any aircraft - in free flight or multiplayer. If you guys are going to fly multiplayer tonight I can send you the gauge so that we can have some refueling fun and you can give me some feedback on the beta ;D It is calibrated to the KC-135 receptacle, but will work on other aircraft as well, and allows for a controlled and precise refueling process.

The original idea for such gauge is by a guy called Andy, who I worked with the last couple of weeks to shape up the gauge.

Here's the link for the tanker, it was made for fs2004 but works fine in FSX;

Capt, I downloaded the aircraft, but I can't get the boom to extend. It says it is connected to "Extend Concorde nose & visor fully", so I assigned a key to that but still nothing happens. How did you get it to work  ???

Looks like they released an update, which you can get here. http://flightsim.com/file.php?cm=SEARCH1&fsec=0&fname=KC-135T2.ZIP

See if that works.

The VRS Superhornet requires FSUIPC to work with inflight refuelling but it does give the tanker TACAN as well.

YES!!!  Very great success....

Just got the KC-135 w/refuelling drogue up and running.  Super easy to get up to altitude and get established on the autopilot.  Id be more than happy to be the tanker guy AND LSO, while keeping the tanker on an autopilot course so others can realistically refuel.

Check this out.
