Locking Gear
« on: August 28, 2022, 11:15:29 am »
Hi all

Latest version of GSX + GSX L2 (via Live update), P3D v4.5

On push back get the ground mechanic says locking gear and walks under the aircraft to the centre of the aircraft between the wings then announces gear locked and PB tug then connects. The ground mechanic never used to walk to the centre of the aircraft!

Is there something I've not updated? or a bug?

Why you think it's problem or a bug ?

The procedure has changed, following suggestions by several users said we always did wrong, and before tractor can be connected, the first thing you must do is place the bypass pin.

It's just in P3D there's no new bypass pin object and animation like we have in MSFS, so it might not be entirely obvious what's happening but, the voice is saying what is doing.

The procedure is fine as you stated it, but on Captain Sim B757 the marshaller/mechanic walks under and to the center of the airplane. With FSlabs A320 this does not happen.

An user on the MSFS forum reported the CS777 had its contact points wrong, and it caused the whole airplane sinking during the pushback, perhaps this is similar.

Because it never done it until 2 updates ago!

But if you say that's how it is then that's how it is!

So any improvement we do to the procedures, we risk to be taken as a bug/problem, just because it never did that before ? Several knowledgeable users complained since a long time our previous procedure was wrong, and before allowing a truck anywhere near the airplane, you must insert the bypass pin first.

OK. My point is that the bypass pin is inserted in the nosewheel, so why does the engineer go the centre of the aircraft not the nosewheel?

Similar strange issue I have on P3D v5, there are two mechanics standing for the push. One walks along the aircraft during the push (which is normal), the other one just stays at the starting point of the push and does not move at all. That 2nd dude was not there before. Is this normal?
