Attaching air stairs automatically leads to deboarding
« on: August 23, 2022, 12:01:13 pm »
Hi,

When I choose to attach the air stairs only, gsx immediately starts to deboard the aircraft. Despite me not selecting deboard.

Any ideas?

Have you enabled the Automatic servicing option ?

Same problem here (Automatic servicing option disabled).

When I call for the stairs, all is fine: the stairs appear, connect and that is that. However, the very next time I click the GSX menu button, deboarding starts (without showing the menu) and it becomes impossible to open the menu (clicking the GSX button simply does not do anything any more).
Tested using the Fenix A320.

You are both talking about differnet things, he was talking about air stairs (which the A320 does not have), you are talking about normal stairs. Unless you both are talking about the same thing.

Good point. To avoid confusion: yes, I am indeed talking about the external GSX stairs.
I can't speak for the OP of course, but I do think that we mean the same thing (being the external GSX stairs).

Please provide detailed reproduction steps including, of course:

- the airplane used

- the airport used

- the gate used

- the precise, exact, sequence of operations you did

Because, I just tried now, calling "Operating stairs" using the default A320 on a default airport, and when stairs connects, nothing else happens, as expected. When opening the GSX menu again, nothing starts automatically.

I was replying to the other user who said he meant the GSX stairs. Do you mean if you operate the Fenix stairs, GSX start Deboarding ? We surely haven't coded anything like that, it's possibly some kind of automation Fenix made ?

I just updated my GSX using the offline installer provided in the sticky thread on these forums, and my problems have disappeared.
Everything is working as it should again!

I am having this exact problem and it is not limited to the Fenix.

I have noted it only seems to happen me where you have 'walk in gates' created.

Using the Default A320 (also happens with Fenix) , I loaded up at EGGD- Bristol (Payware- Pilots Plus) at Gate 2. I was using the attached .ini file.

I then did the following.

1. Operate Stairs
2. Once they are in position
3.Open GSX Menu

At this point, the voice says Deboarding requested and Pax leave the plane down the stairs and follow the 'walk-in' route.

The GSX menu now hangs as per screenshot. Error log attached

If I spawn the aircraft to a gate without 'walk in ' gates configured, I don't get the problem.

I have used the offline installer to make sure I have the latest version.

EDIT: So , I have just tried the same at 2 other airports EGGC and LPPT and do not get this problem. So it seems just be related to this scenery, which seems strange.

I can confirm PAULANDERS's observations.
Turns out my problem did not go away by installing the latest update.

I loaded up my Fenix A320 at EGAA (Pyreegue Payware with the offical Pyreegue GSX profile: see attachment).
On gate 12 (Walk-in gate), the problem occurred once again. However, when I loaded up at gate 9 (Non-Walk-in gate), the problem did not occur at all.

The steps I took are exactly the same as the ones described by PAULANDERS.

He seems to be on to something here: the problem appears to be in the manually created Walk-in gates.

ok, I didn't noticed you added an error log as well. The menu froze because there was an error but, the error log with logging disabled is not detailed enough so, please, do it again with logging enabled, and post the Couatl.LOG ( not .ERR ) this time.
