Cartayna jetway file won't display jetways **SOLVED**
« on: July 07, 2021, 03:53:30 pm »
Hi Umberto,

LKPR Airport for P3D. Cartayna provided an ini file to display jetways for this airport provided by Aerosoft for P3Dv4. It worked fine.

But for unknows reasons it won't work in v5. I have sourced a replacement which does work but comparing the two entries for Gate 2 they are clearly different as the image below shows. The Cartayna one is on the left and the new (working) one is on the right. The lat/lon seem close enough. The working ini has an entry below the AFCAD path for airport altitude which the Cartayna one didn't but even adding it still didn't display the jetways.

Do you have any idea why the Cartayna one doesn't work? Are they version specific for P3D? But if so I have others that do work.

Are you sure GSX is reading that "not working" profile ? Is the AFCAD name matching ?

Yes, I’m positive the correct path and BGL file was entered in the top line of the ini. Sometimes it shows the ini file being used in the top left of the GSX window. This one doesn’t. Just the name of the AFCAD along the top of the window.

Does the Cartayna file look okay? Is an airport altitude entry required?

Sometimes it shows the ini file being used in the top left of the GSX window. This one doesn’t. Just the name of the AFCAD along the top of the window.

That's precisely what I suspected: GSX hasn't loaded the .INI for some reason.

The most common reason is the name of the AFCAD .BGL has changed, so it doesn't match the name of the AFCAD in the [General] section of the .INI file. Note that, only the FILENAME matters, even if the file has a different path ( it almost always does, and it's normal ), it won't be checked for matching, just the filename.

Or, there's a syntax error in the .INI file, which I cannot possibly check with just a screenshot of a section.

Hi Umberto. I’ve used a lot of Cartayna’s files so an error would be unusual. I’ll zip it up and attach it tomorrow.

As far as the path and name of the AFCAD is concerned I’ve been doing this for a long time and am familiar with the procedure. The path and BGL name are definitely correct.

More tomorrow. It would be a shame if I couldn’t use Cartayna’s file because they’re the best around.
Cheers,
Ray.

Hi Umberto,

Computers eh?  ??? For some odd reason the Cartayna file is working this morning. Panic over. The ini file in use is shown in the top-left of the GSX window and jetways show where placed.
Cheers,
Ray.
