couatl crashing in FSX **SOLVED**
« on: September 27, 2020, 12:42:34 am »
Today I was using my airport configuration utility to place the proper jetways on my home airport SCEL
Couatl crashed after I noticed my plane started uncontrollably slewing. While in the airport configuration utility
After Couatl crashed it sent me a log error:

couatl v3.2 (build 4463)
panic log started on Sat Sep 26 18:44:10 2020

problem raised by engine or unspecified addon
{'Airport': 'SCEL', 'User Pos': (-33.40306059335059, -70.78931971747507, 477.888 m, 3.92365 m, 223.55162659696197)}

Then two additional errors:

couatl v3.2 (build 4463)
panic log started on Sat Sep 26 19:34:45 2020

problem raised by engine or unspecified addon
{'Airport': 'SCEL', 'User Pos': (-33.39616355686487, -70.79693856054809, 477.888 m, 3.92373 m, 124.06330615668519)}
reset FSDT_GSX_AIRCRAFT_SERVICE_1_TOGGLE to 0

couatl v3.2 (build 4463)
panic log started on Sat Sep 26 19:37:38 2020

problem raised by engine or unspecified addon
{'Airport': 'SCEL', 'User Pos': (-33.39616355686487, -70.79693856054809, 477.888 m, 3.92373 m, 124.06330615668519)}
reset FSDT_GSX_AIRCRAFT_SERVICE_2_TOGGLE to 0

Ive excluded in my AV the whole addon manager file as well as the individual bglmanx64 and 65.dll files individually

What to do next after having installed live update at least three times and restarting windows as well.

PD all other airports work fine except SCEL

Fixed the problem: After reading similar experiences I just deleted the virtuali folder and all is good again

Did you delete the whole Virtuali folder? If so, then you don't have Couatl error messages but also no GSX jetways. Not sure if really you resolved the Couatl properly.

Then the problem was likely a GSX customization you downloaded which required custom textures made by the author of the customization that you don't have. Note that, some GSX profiles with custom textures work only with P3D4, since FSX doesn't allow texture customization since it requires DX11 render, which FSX doesn't support.

This is true but TBH I was working only on 4 jetways on my Latin VFR Scel v1 airport (jetways 15 through 18). It didn’t really matter much having to begin again.
I do have a question regarding this Addon scenery and that is every time I place a plane (doesn’t matter what airliner) on these gates I place it sticks halfway inside the building forcing me to click “ignore crashes” in order just to avoid having the sim restart every time. I then go to gsx airport customization and go into edit mode and the Airplane adopts the proper parking and stop position configured previously by me. Then I can go into the startup routine and finally request pushback and everything’s fine.
I obviously am under the suspicion that I’m going to have to learn how to use the ADE application as to relocating the entire building so it doesn’t collide with the original gate heavy positions. I insist, nothing I can’t work around but only to know, will I have to always do “my method” to do this or am I missing something on the customization process  that can definitely recall my edit and avoid me having to go into airport customization, try to edit the gate position and see the plane go back to my saved position.
Thanks in advance to both previous replies.

Please clarify what do you mean with "I place a plane". If you mean you use the standard World -> Go To Airport menu, nothing you do in GSX will have any effect on where *that* menu places the airplane.

Which is why, GSX has both a "Warp me here" and a "Reposition airplane" features, which DO recognize your GSX customizations. If you want to have the Go To Airport menu to place airplanes better, you MUST edit the scenery AFCAD with ADE.

I understand, therefore you are saying that when I prepare a flight at the beginning of the simulator, no matter where it places me, using "warp me there" or "reposition airplane" are to be accessed once the plane on the airfield is loaded by the sim or is there a way to access this function so that it will place the plane on the customized parking while loading the sim???

Exactly, it would be best starting on the runway, and then use the GSX menu with the Warp me feature to go to the parking. Not possible to do it before starting the flight, since the GSX menu can only work after the sim loaded completely.
