GSX autodocking for AI - question

Hi,

Latest version of GSX, together with SODE 1.7.1 allows for jetways to dock  against AI aircraft.

I have seen this in action in my sim (P3Dv5HF2), however, it appears that the autodock only seems to work on my initial placement at the airport.
Any AI aircraft that are created initially, have their jetways docked.
However, any new AI's created at gates thereafter, dont seem to be triggering autodock.

Given that the jetways at the airport in question (YPAD, from ORBX Australia V2) have been created via GSX, and that this is dependent on the SODE engine configured correctly (which on first observation seems to be), which product (GSX or SODE) should I start to investigate first, to try to understand why it works at initialization, but not thereafter?

(AI package is UltimateTrafficLive, which uses SIMCONNECT to inject traffic, not BGL files)

There's shouldn't be any difference if the AI is already present on gate or it's created afterwards, we made so many test to be sure about this, to be compatible with 3rd AI products that creates AI on the fly, like UT Live.

But we'll check this.

Just noticed that at FSDT KORD-Chicago, O'Hare V2 using AIG AI, the United side of the airport is docking to AI but the American side is not. Is this possible?

It's not possible that a whole side wouldn't work. Some jetways might not solve *all* gates with AI, but surely not a whole group. Note that, it might take a few minutes for all jetways to dock.

Also, AI won't use the more precise GSX Stop position ( like the user airplane can ), or the more precise GSX door configuration, and there's not much we can do, since the AI engine of the sim will only use the center of the parking, not knowing anything about the more accurate information GSX has for the user airplane so, it's possible a jetway that work with your airplane, might not work with AI, either because you park in a more correct place ( prompted by GSX ), or because a difference in doors configuration, since AI doors are not as precise as the GSX doors.

Got it. Thanks for explaining. Indeed, AI doesn't always park at the gates properly. (bad angle, too far away, etc.)

So how do you make the autodock work?  When I spawn in, none of the gates move to any AI aircraft whatsoever.  At all.  After ten minutes, gates just sitting there.  Is there something you have to do to turn this on?  GSXL2+UTL

Yes, in the Windows Start menu, go to SODE, open the SODE Platform Manager. Go to Tools, then Settings, then set it from there.
