GSX Could not find valid AFCAD data
« on: June 27, 2020, 05:08:27 pm »
Hi,

I am trying the demo in Milano Linate, for example, but it doesnt work. This message appears: GSX Could not find valid AFCAD data at this position, services are not available.

I have read a lot on this topic but I am not sure what to do... I have FSX Steam

Thanks in advance

Did you used to have the regular FSX before you installed FSX:SE ?

Depending how you removed the original FSX, it's likely your registry keys for FSX:SE are wrong, as if FSX was still there, the correct procedure should have been:

- Uninstall FSX:SE

- Reinstall FSX

- Uninstall it using the Windows Control Panel

- Reinstall FSX:SE

This will make FSX:SE running in "stand-alone" mode.

Another thing you can try, is to start the SODE Platform Manager and see if it's reporting a problem with the FSX registry keys, and it has an option to fix them.

Thank you! And how can I start the SODE Platform Manager and how it works?

Just type the name on the Windows search bar, like another other windows program. It usually checks the files and registry entries for FSX and, in some cases, it's able to fix them or, at least, tell you something's wrong.

Something is very wrong in your install. You have an old version of SODE ( 1.6.5 ), while GSX will install automatically newer one ( 1.7.1 ).

I have FSX Steam Edition V10.0.62615.0 What do you recommend me? Uninstall everything about FSX from Control Panel \ Programs \ Programs and Features and delete all files?

Thanks for your help

I have no idea, I wasn't the one who suggested using SODE to fix it, and I don't have access to my computer at home until middle of July, so can't check for you. You might have to wait for Umberto to get back to you unless you want to try to mess around with it.

If you had a problem with the registry, SODE should have said something.

Not very clear with "nothing appears". Is the SODE Platform Manger showing the module as registered with FSX, in green ?
