Nvidia driver 190.62 driver issues
« on: August 26, 2009, 10:29:59 pm »
Hello to all,

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this or not but this driver has given me nothing but grief since I installed a few days ago.  I ended up uninstalling it as it caused FSX to crash.  Besides that Nhancer is still in Beta for this new driver update so I decided to wait to install it and hopefully Nvidia will release a more reliable one.

Has anyone else had any problems with it?

Regards,

David

Hi Silverbird,

I just happened to be in FSX I think and my computer suddenly shut down.  From what I have read on other forums there are others experiencing problems.  I will just wait and not use this driver until it is stable or a new one is made.

Thanks for replying

David

Hi

I have the same driver and almost every time I use FSX at some point the graphics go mad and I either lose all buildings or see multiple images, colours, etc.  It seems to happend whether I have dreamteam scenery installed or not.

See if you can get older drivers, maybe even the ones that came with the CD.

Hi,

You can also read this thread below:

http://forum.nhancer.com/showthread.php?t=1086

I ended up uninstalling it and I am using Driver 186.x and 2.5.1 (Nhancer).  If you look at the bottom of page 5, since they are still working on the beta version that will be compatible with this new driver they recommend to use the 18X.XX drivers.

Hope this helps

David

I installed the 190.62 and I believe it is causing my FS9 to crash as well.  The scenery at ground level looks like it is behind heated engine and kind of twinkles like a star when I pan around or move.  I can't be sure if this is the new driver but I am also suffering from crashes on approach.  It seems to be consistant as well.  How do I retireve the older version of the driver?  I don't see it as an option on the NVIDIA website.  Only 190.62.

If you had previous drivers installed for Nvidia, I believe there is a folder in your root folder named Nvidia and it keeps the drivers there.

ie: C/Nvidia/DisplayDriver - That is how it is setup on mine.

Or you can google it but just make sure you get the right OS and the right GPU before installing.

The driver version prior to the 19x.xx is 186.18 which is the one that is stable for me and my settings.

Hi when you go to the nvidia's main page and hit the download drivers link scroll down and click on Beta and Archived Drivers thats were you will find the beta and older drivers.  http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us

Hi James,

Perhaps you could use your "persuasive skills" and tackle Nvidia support and tell them this driver is causing the FS community grief  ;D.  I am hoping they will do something soon as I am using their 186.XX driver still and monitoring Nhancer site to see what they will do about the 190.XX series which apparently is causing them grief as well.

Hopefully something will be fixed or updated soon...
