Stop Point Offset
« on: October 13, 2017, 09:03:52 pm »
I understand the latest GSX sets the default stop point based on door position relative to jetway. Is there a way we can add an 'offset' of some sort, so that by default an airplane's stop point can be adjusted by a certain length.

For example, a 77W, with the L2 door set as the primary exit, could be offset by a certain amount so that the marshaller doesn't continue guiding the airplane forward well beyond the stop point on the ground and into the terminal building.

I also realize we can edit each parking's stop point on a parking-by-parking basis, however it's not realistic to spend hours editing every parking position at every major airport. Any chance we could also maybe mass-edit an airport's default parking position?

Basically, as it stands now, any widebody with the L2 door selected as the default exit point will be marshalled far too far forward, usually into the airport terminal building by default. Any default 'offset' whether airplane, or airport based would be tremendously helpful.

We obviously thought about it and, there's an option for that in the last update released today, which is the "Ignore Aircraft Preferred Exit", which will instruct the marshaller/docking system to calculate the distance by always using the most forward passenger door so, the preferred exit can stil be used to let GSX start boarding without having to open the first door.

Of course, like anything else in the GSX parking customization page, the option can be applied to a single parking, a group of parkings, a terminal, or the whole airport at once, depending what is selected on the left so, it should take more than a couple of seconds to adjust an airport.

Awesome I'll check out the new update in a bit. I appreciate your development efforts very much.
