PMDG 777 jetway problem
« on: December 17, 2016, 04:03:48 pm »
Dear sir,

Recently bought GSX. Great program. Now we have found an issue with our PMDG 777 in combination with GSX. We have read different threads in this forum but we could not find an answer. The jetway (in GSX) always will move to L1 (most front door) of our PMDG 777 and GSX asks us subsequently (of course) to open L1. However in real life L2 (second door from the front) is used to embark and disembark passengers. How can I change this behaviour from GSX so that the jetway will move to L2 instead of L1? At some airports there are multiple (2) jetways available. In that case it should be possible to move the jetways to L1 and L2. Is that also possible in GSX? Please can you help us (in particular with the first mentioned issue)? Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Alje Bakker

GSX only controls jetways at airports using SODE animated jetways (such as their KMEM). You will only be presented with the option to dock jetways to doors within its physical range. In the case of multiple side jetways, you will be given the option to select which jetway goes to which door.

At airports where you can use CTRL+J to move jetways, the jetway just goes to exit door 1 in the .cfg file.

The jetway (in GSX) always will move to L1 (most front door) of our PMDG 777 and GSX asks us subsequently (of course) to open L1.

This has been discussed several times on the forum: the solution is to exchange the doors using the GSX configuration editor:

Note that, as the previous poster said, this will affect ONLY what "request" you'll see from GSX, before starting the boarding/deboarding procedure, since GSX doesn't have any control over standard FSX jetways, which will always go to the main passenger door, as defined in the [Exits] section of the aircraft.cfg.

This changes if the scenery use SODE, so you can CONTROL from the GSX menu, which jetway will go to which door. But even in this case, it won't change what door GSX is waiting for, in order to start the boarding/deboarding procedure.

Basically, the jetways are one entirely separate thing (regardless if they are default or SODE), and the door GSX expects to be opened before starting boarding/deboarding, is another thing.
