F-18 crash settings
« on: January 03, 2009, 01:28:43 am »
Does anybody here ever not have the crash settings turned on? I choose to have them off because then if i crash i don't have to restart the flight?

I flew for a while with crash settings off.  As I was first learning to use the AoA indicator to land, I thought it was better to bounce then wait for a reset.  Now, in order to better my skills, I turned the crash settings and full realism on, and I only land with a full tank of gas.  I bury my rear gear into the ground 30% of the time, but its the only way to really improve your skills and understand how to properly fly the jet.

You're not actually supposed to land with a full tank of gas, its supposed to be 5500lbs from what I recall. BTW I use full crash realism its better to improve your skills.

From what you 2 have said I just decided to reset my realistic settings to detect crashes and tolerence to about 50%  From that I go in 3 dusk carrrier landings! ;D :D
