Hi everyone,

I bought Vancouver yesterday and was unable to install it due to corrupted files.

I've tried installed new Addon Manager, but no luck.
Suggestions?

The installer is not corrupted, and the Addon Manager doesn't have anything to do with file corruption, which surely has happened locally on your system.

All our installers are digitally signed, and the main reasons of having a digital signature, is to let you be sure if a file you downloaded is the same as the one we released. If the file has been corrupted on your system, the digital signature would be invalid, and you will see a warning from Windows about this when running the installer, so you would know the file you are installing is not the same as the one we have released.

The most common reason for a corrupted file, is a defective antivirus, that has mistakenly identified the installer has a threat (it's an antivirus bug, of course), so it corrupted it when trying to "heal" it, making it unusable, since there wasn't anything to heal to begin with.

When the antivirus is defective, the solution is:

- DOWNLOAD with the antivirus entirely DISABLED.

- Uninstall the Scenery. Reply YES when asked if you want to remove the Addon Manager and the Couatl Engine. Reply YES to both questions.

- TURN OFF your antivirus. Don't just exit from its interface, but turn off the real time protection. Actual wording changes between products, however, it's the option to scan every file that gets open in real time, without user intervention.

- Reinstall the scenery with the Antivirus TURNED OFF. Don't launch FSX yet.

- Configure the antivirus to exclude the following files from scanning:

YourFSXFolder\bglmanx.dll
YourFSXFolder\fsdreamteam\Couatl\couatl.exe

Also, you might want to clear your browser cache before trying to download again, because the browser cache might give you the same file as before, which has been corrupted on your system.
