Coutal.exe crashes and restart (FSX:SE)

Hi Together,

i have GSX, Zürich X and JFK installed on my System.  And i downloaded the latest Version ( from Dezember 14) from FSDreamteam Homepage.

I made a clean Windows install and then only installed FSX:SE no FSX Installation.

My Problme is every time i load a FSDreamteam erport i get the error message that coutal engien has stoped working and will restart.  Then i see the Airport buildings for 10 seconds and after that i get again the same message that says:  Coutal.exe hat a Problem and will restart ( Inside FSX message).

I tried allready to download the standalone addon Manager and reinstalled , GSX and the Airports but the error still is there

I also tried to give the coutal.exe Admin rights.

What am i doing wrong?

how about your other airports?  my gsx won't work at any airport, because of some program and the err file won't tell me the conflict.....   did you check your other fsdt airports?

i only have zürich and jfk and i have the Problem on both.

didn't try gsx till now.

I'm sorry, but I can only repeat and confirm that Couatl.exe CANNOT CRASH FSX.

Instead, it's the opposite: an FSX crashing for other reasons will bring down Couatl.exe with it, so you are mislead thinking it was the cause of the problem, when in fact it was the victim.

hmmm so my only chance is to reinstall fsx se and hope that it works.  because actualy is i said it is a clean installation.

That's hardly a clean installation. A clean installation would mean FSX and just the FSDT airports. So you should first try that, and see if it's stable (it will surely be).

if i have to do that i think the easyest way is to instlall the good old FSX with Accl. Pack there i never had any problems.

You said yourself you planned to "reinstall FSX SE", I hope you weren't trying to reinstall it WITHOUT uninstalling all those add-ons first! You should always uninstall every addon before reinstalling FSX, and that's has been valid for every FSX version, not just FSX:SE

More precisely, a really "clean" reinstallation, is done this way:

- Uninstall every 3rd party add-on FIRST, using their uninstallers.

- Uninstall FSX

- Remove the whole FSX folder, to remove any file that wasn't installed by FSX and wasn't removed by 3rd party uninstallers

- Remove all the FSX data folders:

%ProgramData%\Microsoft\FSX
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\FSX
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\FSX
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files

And finally reinstall FSX. This is the only real "clean" FSX reinstall.

i`m sorry to tell you that it didnt work

I made now a realy clean Install:

Secure Erased  Operating System Disk
Secure Erased  FSX Disk

Completely Brand New Install of Win 8.1 64 bit
Completely Fresh Install of FSX and Acceleration Pack
ONLY Installed Zürich 2.5 and NOTHING Other

Same error : Coutal Scripting Engine has encountred an unrecoverable error and will be restarted.

The problem, in fact, it's caused by another product, non-flight sim related.

This message has been discussed many times on the forum, and it's caused by ANOTHER executable that is trying to attach to every running executable in your system. These are the known causes of that error message:

- If you have the ATI Tray Tools utility installed, you must disable the "Automatic Overclock" feature.

- If you have the Radeon Pro utility installed, you must disable "API monitoring" or use the setting "disable API monitoring for programs not listed in my profiles list"

- The Lenovo One Key Theater and Power management software

- The Trillian instant messenger.

- The Mumble VOIP program.

- The krakensysaudiolauncher.exe from the Razer Kraken headset drivers.

If you are sure you are not running any of the above programs, then you might simply using another software that is behaving in a similar (invasive) way as those listed above, that we never heard before. Try to close all your running processes, until you find the offending one.

umberto thank you for your help i think i thound the problem at least at the moment it seems so.

In my case it was the ASUS Game First III Application it should "improve" the Network Conectivity as it manages how much bandwith every application gets.

I uninstalled it and at least for the last 10 minutes coutal.exe didn`t crash.

So it looks good at the moment.

Ok, good to know, we'll add this to the list of offending programs in case someone else will ask about it.
