Missing Animations
« on: December 02, 2023, 09:30:16 am »
Hi,

I have moved my MSFS to a different drive, before this, i had no problem's. Now i am getting missing animations, textures and 3d models. I have completely uninstalled and re-installed the GSX and still have the problem - any ideas how to resolve this?

Please clarify exactly what you did to move the simulator.

Used the xbox app on the pc to move it from drive 1 to drive 2.

So i have been doing some digging, i have tried all of the below with the same outcome = no fix.

1. Uninstalled - reinstalled
2. Uninstalled - re-installed using the off line update
3. uninstalled - re-installed using the offline update and then updated using the FSDT live update

It would seem that 3d model for the tug is missing and some textures  (as getting a pink textures)

I think you have been replied to on Discord.

For other reading this, the problem was caused by one of the two GSX packages in the Community folder being a real folder instead of a symbolic link, possibly related to the move of the whole simulator.

The two GSX packages in the Community folder MUST be shortcuts, not real folder, which is how they are normally installed. Removing the package that wasn't a shortcut and pressing "Relink" in the FSDT Installer has fixed the problem.
