Built in stairs logic - possible improvement
« on: May 11, 2023, 05:01:51 pm »
Hey there,

currently the logic of GSX does allow for built in air stairs on planes that can also be served by external stairs (prominent examples would be the 737 and the MD-80). But this has one caviat. It works well when you have extended the stairs before you load GSX. Then the front stair will not spawn and the built in stairs are used.
However when you pull into a stand which you selected prior, the external stair has spawned and is going to be used. This would be unrealistic for 100% air stair users like Ryanair. You can get around this by restarting GSX once have you have extended your stairs, but this is quite an immersion breaker and not really how it is supposed to be, isn't it?

The idea would be to get a checkbox for the plane customization for "force airstairs" which would disable the external stairs for all doors with a internal stair for that aircraft. Together with the per registration config that would allow for a very detailed customization for your aircraft and greatly improve the user experience.

I think and hope that can be easily done as you have solvedmuch more complex problems.
