PMDG 737-700 - Tank truck
« on: August 19, 2022, 10:52:46 pm »
Hi,

when I call the tank truck on the PMDG 737-700, a small tank truck comes up without animations ? Is there also a tank truck for with animations ?

Thanks,

Daniel

It's normal, the 737 wing is too low: the larger tanker requires a refueling point at least 3.40 mt. high, and the hydrant at least 3.00 mt.

The smaller truck doesn't have an animation, this might change in the future. However, since the 737 is not that low, it might be enough to just move the refueling point further out on the wing, and you should be able to get the hydrant (only at Gates), which has the best animation.

If you start your flight at a Parking position (rather than a Jetway), a different fuel truck will arrive (with animations) and it just fits under the wing.

There is a workaround in the next post after this post below .....

Why does the fueltruck have to drive under the wing anyway?

In real life we always get the big truck in the 737 and he'll simply pull the fuel hose from his truck - parking next to the wing - to the refueling panel?

The panels position is fix on the wing, why should we reposition the attachment point?
Best regards,
Emanuel

i have make it : "it might be enough to just move the refueling point further out on the wing" but its only coming the small tank truck without animation.and if I switch off the underground fuelling in the menu, only the small tanker comes up anyway.
Is there another trick?

Thanks , Daniel

Because, of course, we haven't made an animation that would use the big sprocket instead of the fuel platform, which can be used for all these cases. I

t's obviously under consideration but, since it took more than a year of very hard work JUST to redo ALL animation from scratch and port them to MSFS, in addition to fighting with all the SDK limitations that are just not there in P3D, we needed to release a first version, which can be then improved upon.

GSX's previous history of a decade of free updates, should provide plenty of evidence the program will look very different in the future.
