Problem with GSX, Error
« on: June 01, 2022, 07:31:18 pm »
Hello folks,

I have a problem with GSX V2.

I had to reinstall FSX.

The installation of GSX went without problems.

However, I get an error message at all airports when landing.

A message is attached here.

As I said, it happens at all airports that I have installed.

Please help.

Many greetings

Your problem indicates you don't have the current version because, the error is referring to a line of code that has been moved BECAUSE we fixed this a while ago, so you are not running the fixed code.

Now, it's not normally possible to install and get an old version by mistake, since the installer runs the updater automatically at the end to get the latest files so, the only possible reason for this, is the firewall/antivirus is blocking the updater, so you can't get the latest files.

- Add the whole Addon Manager to the antivirus Exceptions

- Turn off the firewall

- Run the FSDT Live Update again after you have done both changes.

Thanks for the answer,
I have made all settings.
The FSDG Live Updater does not work.
Anti Vir off
firewall off
The installation window disappears after a short time.

As discussed in the sticky thread on the top of this section, lots of user fixed the problem with the updater not running by installing the new FSDT Universal Installer and update GSX and other products from there.

Thanks for the information.

Unfortunately the new FSDT Universal Installer didn't work either.
So I uninstalled GSX. All remaining files deleted manually.
First install the FSDT Universal Installer. Then GSX installed.
For now it works.

Thanks for the help

So I uninstalled GSX. All remaining files deleted manually.

Please clarify what do you mean with "All remaining files"

First install the FSDT Universal Installer. Then GSX installed.

The order doesn't matter. It only matters you install the Universal Installer once, because it seems to be able to fix/re-register missing libraries in your system, by just installing it.

Not all files were deleted when deinstalling via uninstaller.exe.
There were still files in the virtuali and addon manager folders. I then manually deleted these files and folders until there were no more files.
Sorry, but I didn't write down the file names. So I can't say exactly which files it was.
