Haven't you said you already did that, and wanted to try the x64 versions ?

There was no reason to uninstall the most recent x86 version until we agreed to try the x64 ones as well. Ì simply mentioned it to let you know that I didn't forget to uninstall the x86 version first.
Now all those 6 (4 x86 plus 2 x64) versions had their chance. Still doesn't work.

You mean you made 6 uninstalls and 6 reinstalls ? Have you restarted Windows after reinstalling them ?

I have now checked my internet options > publishers > content... my untrusted publishers list is completely empty.
Also the SODE platform manager 1.6.3 claims SimConnect being ok.

Since the VC+ installations also didn't change anything and my windows real time threat protection remains off, what else could be a reason to prevent Couatl.exe from running? What are the preconditions and actions to launch it?

All these days I ran all the installers as administrator. I also checked the couatl.exe preferences and set it as "run as administrator".

By accident I now found the requirement for couatl.ex to run successfully: I had to set "run as administrator" in the P3D executable shortcut as well. So now it works and you could consider to update your guide in the "how to install" thread by adding "verify P3D is launched as administrator".

That's not how it's supposed to be. For some reason, P3D required to be run as admin on your system, but this has never been a requirement, and there's nothing in our software that requires admin access and it's not how we test it. Neither P3D nor Couatl.exe normally require to be run as admin.

The only possible reason it's required on your system, might be related to some changes in the default security settings in your own account. If it works for you, that's fine...
