P3D V3 couatl.exe error 0xc000007b
« on: July 29, 2017, 09:13:57 am »
Hi,
I have bought Flightbeam KSFOHD for the latest version of P3D V3. It's installed but when I open P3D I receive "coualt.exe failed to start-error 0xc00000b". I have seen a big FSX thread on this but none of the solutions worked (I even tried turning anti-virus off completely).  I have reinstalled the scenery, addon manager, and the latest Microsoft Runtime around 4 times now, but without success. I have also tried separately launching couatl (as administrator and not) from P3D but it is still not working. At SFO all I see are the ground textures and jetways, but no buildings.
Any ideas? Thanks
Harry Karmel

The error is caused by missing/corrupted/not installed correctly VC++ libraries. Couatl requires the VC++ 2015 runtimes, 32 bit version, which is installed automatically by our installer, launching the official Microsoft installer, but if you have a problem with the configuration of these libraries, the Microsoft installer we launch during setup might not work.

Try to download it from here:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53587

Download BOTH 32 and 64 bit versions, install both of them.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. I want be able to access my PC for a few weeks so if it doesn't work I'll revisit this, but otherwise, thanks!
