Pushback with Engine Start

Hi Everyone,

Not exactly sure if I'm missing something here but when I ask for pushback with start, the push car is hooked up and there is silence. After waiting for sometime and hearing nothing from the ground people I decide to start an engine. All of a sudden, I hear from ground crew saying engines clear, proceed with start and remove park brake.  Thing is, this is all too late for I have almost completed the start of one engine before pushback has even started.  Is this a limitation of GSX or am I missing something in the procedure?

Edb, yes you have, there is an announce in text that says " Yous announced start up"  and GSX is waiting for you to start GPU then any engine, after that pushback starts

Ok Thanks for your reply.
 APU was already running. I guess GSX was waiting for me to then start an engine and I was waiting for GSX to tell me it was ok to start an engine.

My Procedure:

1)Start APU and switch to APU Power
2)Disconnect Ground Power
3)Call for GSX pushback with start

I think I need to switch 1 and 3
