Couatl.exe crash
« on: July 29, 2016, 07:33:29 am »
Hello. I have problem with Couatl.exe. When I start FSX in add-on menu there are couatl and I can also open GSX window to operate some processes but after I press one of then it just disappears, no crash reports or any other errors. I checked task manager and there are no couatl.exe as well.

It's not possible you wouldn't see any error report. At least, you should have either:

- A Windows crash report in the Event Viewer, under the Application log

AND/OR

- A Couatl.err file in the %APPDATA%\Virtuali folder, or a Couatl.LOG file in the same folder if you have logging enabled in the Troubleshooting page of the GSX Settings.

Your version of the program is dramatically outdated, it's something from years ago!

Download and install the current GSX installer now, you are running with a very old program which is missing 50% of the features of the current one, and we don't even know if it will ever work on current OS versions...

I updated to last version but problem wasn't fix. I performed clean installation of FSX and now I has working GSX. I don't know what caused problem maybe some file was corrupted? Thank you by the way.

I can't say which exact file in FSX was missing/corrupted but, of course, since it was fixed by reinstalling FSX, the only sure thing that it was an FSX problem that didn't had anything to do with GSX, that was just affected by it.

Maybe the Simconnect libraries or the VC++ runtime libraries, which are required by all 3rd party addon modules.
