Doors openning
« on: June 23, 2016, 03:03:57 pm »
Hello,

I wished to know if possible the script required for the opening, closing doors and bunkers to transcribe my SIOC.
Thank you for the help you can give me and the community.

Cordially.

I don't fully understand your message. What "script" you are referring to, and what's is a "SIOC" ? Do you know that GSX doesn't open the doors ?

Hello,
GSX provides pre-departure selection: catering, boarding, pushback etc ... When the boarding GSX asked request to open the doors of the aircraft. But I liked whether through a script could with switches (eg on the pedestal) open and close these doors. In the world of the simulation allow interfacing Opencockpit through a SIOC software to write every aircraft scripting.
Hence my question, because I managed to make a script opening and closing doors, only GSX does not seem to recognize it and always asks me to open the doors for boarding while I have already started them.
Thank you for your reply.

GSX doesn't have to "recognize" a script.

It will just read the variables (that might be standard or custom) the simulator itself would use to store a door's status FROM the simulator.

This means, as long your script will set the correct variables TO the sim, GSX will surely read them.

This is precisely what I do not understand: With the switches I have with P3D that recognize the doors open and close normally.
GSX but seems not to recognize the open.

As I've said, GSX reads the variables used FROM THE SIM. So, the only possible explanation for this, is those variables are NOT set in the sim for some reason.

If you use a 3rd party airplane with an internal simulation of systems that might not relate to the variables used by FSX, it's possible that your script has made the door "visually" open, but it caused losing the sync between the sim and the plane internal simulation.

For example, you might have modified the visual status of a door's animation, but the sim might have a separate status for it, based on another system, for example the electrical power and, if you modify something like that, the plane simulation might be confused.

That's why we decided NOT to have GSX trying to opening doors itself automatically: it's too dangerous touching the state of a simulation you might not know much about, so we only READ variables, and never try to WRITE them.

I understand better, and thank you for that.
I'll see how to remedy this problem.
I add that I am very satisfied with GSX and the work done by the whole team.
Sincerely.
