GSX at AA_Sceneries Phuket
« on: March 02, 2016, 07:19:23 pm »
Hi Umberto,

Sorry, I've got another question!  I recently installed AA_Sceneries Phuket VTSP scenery but no matter what I've tried, GSX doesn't recognise the new airport layout and parking positions.  When I 'warp directly' to a parking spot it parks me a long way from the correct gate position.

AI aircraft are parking in the correct positions, so its just the GSX.

The Airport Cashe has been regenerated and I've re-installed GSX but still with no luck.

Any ideas how to fix it?  Thanks again for your brilliant support.

You should check which AFCAD is being used by GSX, which is indicated in the parking customization dialog box.

Hi Umberto,

Good advice!  It's using the MyTraffic AFCAD located at MyTraffic\scenery\BR2_VTSP.bgl

How do I fix it so that GSX works at the correct parking positions?  ???

Good advice!  It's using the MyTraffic AFCAD located at MyTraffic\scenery\BR2_VTSP.bgl

Than it's likely a problem, because that AFCAD is probably made for the default scenery only. Are you sure the AA_Sceneries folder is on a HIGHER layer compared to MyTraffic in the Scenery Library ?

Booforty - Go back to MyTraffic\scenery\BR2_VTSP.bgl and re-name the bgl file to BR2_VTSP.bgl.OFF  That will prevent MT from using it.  I've found when I've had conflicts like you have, it takes a couple or so reboots, but your problem should be resolved.

Thanks Bruce,

What doesn't make sense is that the AI (using the MyTraffic AFCAD) are parked at the correct parking positions for the add-on scenery!!

So if I turn the AFCAD off, surely they will be parked at the wrong positions?

Interesting, so I turned off the VTSP MyTraffic AFCAD...

AI aircraft are still parked in the perfect positions for the Addon-on airport of VTSP.  But GSX doesn't work.  The error message is looking for the MyTraffic AFCAD and can't find it!!

Either you removed the file while FSX was stil running, or there was a similar problem that resulted in GSX not automatically update its scenery cache.

You can force a cache rebuild, by removing the following folder ( when FSX is NOT running! )

%PROGRAMDATA%\Virtuali\Couatl

So GSX will rebuild its cache on the next restart, and should see the proper file.
