Problem with Couatl **SOLVED**
« on: January 20, 2016, 03:28:04 pm »
Hello Umberto

After having been asked, I installed the latest Stand-alone manager. Since then, I've serious problems, using GSX. When I start my flight at Zurich airport, and ask GSX for push-back (CTRL-F12), the following message appears:
"The Couatl Scripting Engine has recovered an unrecoverable error and will be restarted. Please download and install the latest Stand-alone addon manager from....."

So I reinstalled the already downloaded new version of the stand-alone manager, but got the same error message again.

I looked into my exe.xml and  dll.xml files, but did not see any mistakes.

Do you have suggestions to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.

The error message doesn't say just that. It should also offered you the option to open the error log with Notepad, showing you the detailed error log.

You can check the error log in the %APPDATA%\Couatl.ERR file or the Couatl.LOG file (if you had logging enabled). Please post the content of the error log.

The Couatl.err file looks like:

couatl v3.0 (build 3187)
panic log started on Wed Jan 20 14:59:08 2016

problem raised by engine or unspecified addon
{'Airport': 'LSZH', 'Requested assistance services at': 'Gate E 26', 'User Pos': (47.46028170381195, 8.557273456936063, 432.514 m, 0.917519 m, 5.956652265149055)}

Indeed, I dîd ask for push.back at LSZH Gate E26.
Hop this will help you and me.

Thanks for helping me.

I tried asking for pushback at Zurigh Gate E26, and I cannot see any errors.

Which airplane you used ?

Do you have the same error everywhere or just there ? Do you have the error with any airplane or just with a specific plane ?

Hello Umberto

After uninstalling GSX and Zürich(LSZH), and reinstalling, everything was OK again. So the problem has been solved.

Thanks for your help.

See you, Henk

Why you are posting here, which is a thread that doesn't have anything to do with missing both menus ? This thread indicates all the known solutions for missing menu items under the "Addons" menu:

I cannot explain it any better than on that thread. Note that, you will also need the MS VC++ 2013 runtimes too, which can be downloaded here:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784

ALWAYS install BOTH the x64 AND the x86 version of the runtimes (even if your OS is 64 bit, you MUST install the x86 version too). Never install the ARM version.

I know that there is some problems with VC++ runtimes. 2013 versions  can be repaired and it says "you might install VC++ 2013 runtimes wrong" can u AGAIN send all of the VC links. 2005, 2008 and 2013 runtimes. Thank u For help. I Appreciate that :D

The VC++ 2008 runtimes don't have anything to do with our products or Simconnect. The links to the VC++ 2013 runtimes are in my previous reply, and the link to the VC++ 2005 runtimes are in the thread I linked before.

That seems to indicate you are trying to install the wrong version. The vcredist_IA64.exe are for Itanium systems which are Server Systems, you must download and install the x86 AND the x64 versions.

And yes, you must install the x86 version even on a 64 bit OS (you must install both), because these are all 32 bit apps, and they all require the x86 version, even when running under a 64 bit OS.

And as I've  said in my previous reply, you must be sure BOTH the VC++ 2005 (needed by Simconnect and FSX itself) AND the VC++ 2013 runtimes (needed by our products) are BOTH correctly installed.
