Problem with New Install
« on: April 24, 2012, 12:24:56 pm »
Hey all
I have just purchased GSX and i have a few problems,
I have been in contact with someone by email about this problem and im also posting here as it may help others.
I really dont want to re-format or re-install FSX, but if there is no other option this will be my last resort..

OK so the problem.
I have installed GSX as guided.
When i start FSX after the install i dont see any popup box to allow the file to run like you would when installing addons (like the one below)
http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h321/StevenK2104/11.jpg

When i load into freeflight i can see the addon menu at the top but when open i dont see any "Addon Manager" (See Below)
http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h321/StevenK2104/2.jpg

I have tried the following:

---Un-Installing and Re-Installing both GSX & Addon Manager

---Placing the files on my antivirus white list
YourFSXFolder\bglmanx.dll
YourFSXFolder\fsdreamteam\Couatl\couatl.exe

---Un-Installing and Re-Installing VC++ runtimes

---Installed GSX on a different PC with FSX and got the same results

---Simconnect code

It then goes NUTS after that

My dll.xml DOES contain the text/code for the addon manager but it wont load

Any help will be greatly received

The simconnect log shows that FSX is not even TRYING to load the two modules. Which means, the problem are not the modules themselves, because they are not even started. If you had a problem with VC++ libraries, you should at least see a message with lines showing FSX tried to load, and failed with a "missing dependencies" error.

Since the programs are not even tried to be started by FSX, it can be caused by one of these:

- The antivirus is still blocking them

- You might inadvertently un-trusted "Virtuali" on your system so, anything signed by us will be automatically refused to run.

To verify this, you can go to the Control Panel, under "Internet Options", look for the "Content" tab, there should be an "Authors" button, that will list the software authors that you trusted, and another tab with untrusted authors. If you see "Virtuali s.a.s", remove it from both tabs (especially if it's under untrusted)

OK problem has now been solved
Thinking on what you said about blocked programs i just followed these steps

1. In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
2. Go to the Content tab, Look under the Certificates section.
3. Click on Publishers button.
4. Select the Untrusted Publishers tab.
5. Select the Publisher you wish to unblock and click the Remove button.

Problem solved
Thanks

That's exactly the same as I've said:

The only difference is the "Authors" button is really called "Publishers" sorry for that, the italian version of Windows I use, use the italian word for "Authors", instead of "Publishers"...
