Missing Texture? or Black OPS?
« on: March 24, 2012, 09:37:18 pm »
This was the result of deboarding at VVTS Gate 7 with Express India B73H.  The picture tells the tale:

It's a problem when the airport is not assigned any airline, so the generic "jet aviation" company is selected.

Look for the following file:

FSX\Simobjects\Misc\FSDT_Staircase_fixed\SIM.CFG

and edit the 4th line that reads

texture=01

and change it to

texture=

Thanks, Umberto.  I have applied the procedure as you described and will startup FSX again to verify.  Out of curiousity, why then is the rear stairway defined by a service company logo but the front one has no texture?  There were Vietnam Airways planes using the airport.  Is it possible to "assign" that airline to the AFCAD for VVTS using ADE?  I can't find such an entry.

The problem was only in the FSDT_Staircase_fixed, the rear one is not the same type, and is correct.

You should first create a Vietnam Airways livery using the Paintkit. It's not really a problem if the airline is not listed in the ADE list, you can type any 3 letter code as a parking code, as long as it matched by the parking code in GSX, it will work, it doesn't even need to be a real code.

UT2 has the livery already and the planes are visibly present.  Why would I then need to create one?  I am a bit confused.

I'm not sure how UT2 enters in the picture, that would be for AI only. I thought you asked how to have a Vietnam Airways livery for the GSX service vehicles.

I probably will never fly to that airport again so not concerned that a "Vietnam Airlines" vehicle was not available.  I just wanted to get rid of the "black" staircase and your fix has done that.  I assume that fix will also prevent it from happening at other airports, is that correct?   Thanks again.

As explained in the manual ( and the forum too ) the livery of *your* own airplane doesn't affect the service vehicle livery in any way. It's the ICAO of the airport and the parking codes of the parking that does.

If the staircase chosen was the generic one, you can fix it as explained above.
