Prepar3d v5 airport cache crashes Coutal
« on: February 09, 2023, 10:11:21 pm »
Whenever I load into Prepar3d the airport cache trys to load and gets to about 86% then crashes Coutal. Any idea's on how to fix this. I should also add I have ran the live updater and went through any possible fixes through the fourm.

It would be best if you enabled logging, because the panic log doesn't contain enough information to know what's going on.

To create a log if you can't access the GSX settings, do as follows:

- Open the Notepad and type the following on a new blank file:

logFile=couatl.log

(please note logFile is written beginning with a lower case L and a capital F )

- Save the file as couatl.ini in the %APPDATA%\Virtuali folder

- Restart Couatl from the Tray Bar or start it from its icon on the Desktop

- Check your %APPDATA%\Virtuali folder and if there's a Couatl.LOG file there, ZIP IT ( please don't post it as it is ) and use the ATTACH function of the forum to Attach it to a post.

The log doesn't say much, other than saying it started generating the airport cache, but crashed, the most likely cause is the antiviurus:

- Turn off the firewall

- Configure the antivirus to add the whole Add-on Manager folder to the antivirus Exclusions list.

- Download and install the new FSDT Universal Installer:

https://www.virtualisoftware.com/update/FSDT_Universal_Installer.exe

- Install it and use it to Update GSX and other FSDT products you might have.

If still doesn't work, try to RESTART Windows after installing the Universal Installer

If that doesn't fix it, it might be a corrupted .BGL in your scenery library. A new log, made AFTER you did all the suggested changes and the update will help.
