GSX freezes during deboarding and boarding

Hi all,

Just need a bit of help with an issue I noticed since today as I've been prompted with an update message (which was bit weird considering I saw nothing in the release notes). I couldn't find a similar topic, but apologies in advance if I missed it.

Systematically, when boarding/deboarding passenger with GSX Level 2, either walkin gates or through SODE Jetway, GSX seems to freeze completely. The boarding/deboarding doesn't finish, people don't move anymore and I am unable to access the interaction menu or any GSX displays (settings, customization windows, etc.). Restart Couatl doesn't do anything neither, and I can't disable GSX. The only solution so far is then to close the sim.

This occurred only since I updated GSX, I run on P3D v4.5, PMDG 738 NGXu.

it also happened at EIDW and LFBZ earlier today.

I have attemped updates via the live updater and performed a clean install. Nothing else has changed, as far as I can remember.

Yes I am having the same issues it Freezes during Baggage and passanger loading..

I ran updater 2 times still an issue

Are you sure you ran the update recently ? We fixed this today.

Definitely ran it a few times during the afternoon (around 14:00UTC), this is probably around the time I even reinstalled GSX completely. I can give it another go. something that actually made me curious is that the installer shows step 1 out of 37 but I've never seen it going further. Is is crashing mid-update, or expected?

There are no errors, and it's not crashing. The Live Update is supposed to be run quickly without all unnecessary clicks so, when it's done, it just quits because, since you asked to be all updated, when it's done, there's nothing left to do other than quit, so it saves you an unnecessary confirmation.

And, you'll never see all steps performed, unless you have all FSDT products, for both MSFS and P3D, all installed at the same time.

Got it thanks! so that clears a incomplete update. So definitely need to keep looking in the sim. I have done another update when I responded, so I'll try again and feed back.

Just an update: GSX crashed the same way during refueling. I got a couple of messages to track the progress, then never finished. Impossible to start boarding, restart couatl or anything...

Try this installer, it's not MSFS-specific, it's just an offline copy of the files you were *supposed* to get from the servers:

Before we can look into possible issues, we need to be sure you get the right files.

Thanks for getting back to me! Happy to try that when I'm back from work. Also I need to say I've found maybe a beginning of a root cause:
I reinstalled UK2000 EGSS which was one impacted scenery, after, due to another active AFCAD only 1 gate was appearing in the editor. However after replacing a GSX profile file, all came back on next sim restart, and indeed GSX worked fine during refuel, boarding and pushbike. Arriving in LEMD (LarinVFR) all doors were in the editor and GSX started deboarding.
Quid, what happen if you have a gate not in the editor but still in the afcad and profile? Could that cause that? Before updating, I'll try on another airport impacted see if more gates are available and if it crashes.

I have to contradict myself. This morning fueling failed twice at LEMD. One before and one after the update via the Live updater. Latest panic log below, after update.

Hello.

After uninstalling GSX, run the addon manager, download the GSX installer but disconnecting the internet before the update, then re-installing the addon manager "simple and dirty" exe as P3D Couatl hadn't started before, well.. Same problem.

Sounds like it may not be the missing files things then? Or I'm lost.. I give up for now, I have been trying to fly for 3hrs and couldn't. I'll probably uninstall everything for now, maybe re-install the old version of GSX later. Let me know if you have further idea?
