GSXL2 SODE Unable to register
« on: May 11, 2020, 09:29:30 am »
Hi

(MY configuration: Windows 7, FSX+SP2, ProSim737 s/w suite, a few ORBX and FSDreamTeam products including GSX).

I just recently bought and installed “FSX/P3D3 GSX Level 2 Expansion” package from FSDT. The package was installed in the default directories. During the installation I have the following message

Setup has launched the SODE Platform Manager utility
1.   Register SODE for each of your installed simulator platform
2.   2. Important! Close the SODEPlatformManager utility …..

So far, so good!!

I started FSX and set my departure at LFMN Gate 12, I started GSX and customised this parking gate following the GSXL2 tutorial videos (GSX Level 2 Jetway tutorial 1).
I restarted FSX and selected LFMN Gate 12, and then I opened the GSX “Activate ground services” menu.
But then when I selected option “6 – Operate jetway(s)
I got an error messages indicating “[GSX] SODE is unavailable, jetways will not animate”.

Then, I found SODE installed with the following sub-directories:
C:\Program Files (86)\12bPilot\SODE
Data                                              FOLDER
P3Dv2                                        FOLDER
P3Dv4                                        FOLDER
P3Dv5                                        FOLDER
SimObjectsAnimationModule.dll        Application extension
SimObjectsAnimationModule64.dll    Application extension
SimObjectDisplayEngine               Application
SODEPlatformManager               Application

I then, selected “SODEPlatformManager“ the system shows a new window
“SODE Platform Manager 1.6.8 (SimConnect OK)

With three menu options:
           File    Tools    Help

Under the “Tools” there is a “Refresh Log” option shows the following error:
“FATAL : No Target Simulator Platform supplied! Shuting down…. “

There is not menu or alternative show how to register this product!!!!

The Check “SIMCONNECTION VERSION” confirms the following messages:
“SimConnect Version 10.0.61259.0 (SP2/X_PACK) is installed

In other words:
GSX can’t activate jetways because SODE has not been registered!
SODE cannot be registered because there is not display how.

Any help would be very much appreciated, please!!!!

Best regards.
skywalker.

I'd say go to the SODE website to download the latest version of SODE, see if you can register it that way.

From your report, it looks like SODE has installed properly, so I suggest posting this question on SODE support forum.

Thank you for your reply,

I already tried downloading the latest version of SODE from their web page but, I encountered exactly the same results.

And that's exactly why I told you to post this question on SODE support forum. I don't know exactly what that message means so, better ask the developer. Surely, the problem must be something happening in your sim install but, again, who's better than the developer to tell you exactly why ?

Dear Vertuali,
I would like to thank you for your replies and support but I would also like to say with all my respect “please takes it easy ….”
Following your advice, I have already contacted SODE’s support team and we are currently trying to solve the problem.
In my last port I was JUST replied to “Captain Kevin’s post" about downloading the last version from the SODE website.
Novertheless, thank you one again for your SUPPORT!!
Best regards.
