Using Italian Voice Set in Spain

I appreciate that the voice sets are chosen based upon the country that the AFCAD file relates to.

Whilst at Palma Mallorca, the US voice set was used for pushback - I'm guessing that US is the default if no voice set exists for said country, which it doesn't for Spain.

Now to my ears, the Italian voice set sounds quite Spanish, so I was wondering if I create a Spanish folder and copy over the Italian voice set, is there some way to convince GSX that there's now a Spanish voice set which can then be used in Spain. Not perfect, but far more realistic than a US accent.

Is this possible ?

I don't know. But it would be cool to be able to create your own set for certain countries. you could even implement dialects for different regions of a country, of you only fly in one particular place.

You can do it very easily:

- make a copy of the following folders ( Ctrl-C and Ctrl+V in Explorer )

Addon Manager\couatl\GSX\sounds\pushback\en-it
Addon Manager\couatl\GSX\sounds\deicing\en-it

Rename the copied folders (which should now be named something like "copy of en-it" ) to this:

Addon Manager\couatl\GSX\sounds\pushback\sp
Addon Manager\couatl\GSX\sounds\deicing\sp

Now you'll get the english/italian accent for all countries ( A LOT ) in the world that have Spanish as their official language. Note the following:

- If you run the FSDT Live Update, it will likely remove these extra folders

- We'll have a proper English/Spanish voice soon enough
