There's no such thing as a black smoke, since the one I see it's clearly white. Maybe you installed some kind of addon that has modified the default effect textures ?

Do you mean you see black some on THAT airport only ( I doubt that ) ? Or that you know that airport has modified the default effects files ? (unlikely)

Ello, in reply to the answer no black smoke I send this image of it ,it happens at Manchester,Doncaster, which are UK2000 airports as well as flight sim airports, and with any type of plane, wether it be add on
or standard flight sim planes.

You must have a problem with some 3rd party addon replacing one of the default effect textures, or it might simply have been lost on your drive. Check your FSX\Effects\Texture folder for this file:

fx_1.bmp

Check if the file is there and, if it is, go to this site:

http://onlinemd5.com/

Drag/Drop it over "File checksum:" field, and verify the MD5 checksum is this one:

056A98BE1034C0CA6CFD010F54DF2520

If it's not, or the file is just not there, something has corrutped/removed it, so you might have to reinstall the sim. If you have FSX:Steam edition, you might be able to get the correct file by using the "Verify integrity of game cache" option, as explained here:

Ello,I used a gauge recovery tool for fsx and that seems to have done the trick,no more black smoke ,white like it should be .
                            Thank you ecca
