CTD with Latest Addon Manager
« on: July 21, 2016, 05:37:09 pm »
Just install the latest, now getting a crash to desktop every time within a few minutes in P3D v3.3.5. Sim ran perfectly fine for over 9 hours yesterday. Only change today was the coualt prompt to update which I did and then error message saying I needed the latest addon manager. Installed that and now CTD.

I am betting any time now Umberto will be along playing defense attorney saying it couldn't possibly be their fault. THE ONLY CHANGE FROM A STABLE SIM TO UNSTABLE WAS YOUR SOFTWARE UPDATE TODAY.  No other changes were made!!!!

Facts are:

- Many users reported crashes with the previous versions. You are saying it was STABLE.

- We fixed all the reported crashes we could ever find and even some nobody found.

- Your are now saying is UNSTABLE.

Are you SURE you updated to the CURRENT version ? Because, what is supposed to happen with the update, is exactly the opposite of what you are saying: it should have gone from the "Unstable" (reported by several users of the previous version), to the current stable and fixed version.

And besides, before saying that crash is "caused" by our software, have you checked WHAT crashed, using the Windows Event Viewer.

Yes, previous version was very stable. No issues with hours upon hours of flying. Now today,  I clicked on the KIAH scenery,  scrolled down to the download button for the latest Addon module and installed it this morning.

Yes, previous version was very stable. No issues with hours upon hours of flying.

Which conflicts with what many users said and I also confirm it wasn't possible you didn't had any crashes. Unless, with "previous version", you mean a version older than the one which was released after KMEM, somewhere in June.

Which conflicts with nobody else having reported it so far. And of course, while I'm writing this, I'm running P3D in the background, with GSX servicing an airplane, which is going on for at least 10 minutes...when someone reports a problem, before replying, I ALWAYS test it.

In any case, you still haven't done what I asked: check the Windows Event Viewer to see what the crash was about.

Yes, that seems like it:

Maybe it's best to leave the thread, in case anyone else would get the same error, he might just use the search function with that .DLL name, and hopefully find it...
