************** THIS IS AN UNOFFICIAL POLL... ********************
I noticed a lot of people are still looking at the old polls from 2 years ago. I thought I would give us a fresh start. The poll will be open for 21 days.
-
I ask everyone to not miss the thread subject: this is an UNOFFICIAL poll started by a fellow forum user, it's not an FSDT poll.
-
I have been wanting kiah (Houston, tx) for years. It's interesting that it is a huge gateway to Mexico and is still a big hub for united and fsdt hasn't made one yet. Blueprint has one out but it isn't made in the same quality as the big hitters make.

SEATTLE!

Indianapolis!

I think Miami is crucial!
-
SEATTLE!
I too, would say Seattle (KSEA)... But I have a strong feeling, that FlyTampa is going to 'Reboot' KSEA in the very near future... So I would be holding out on that one IMO... :)
EDIT... After long thought and consideration I voted for Newark (KEWR)
-
KEWR.
-
Guys, all the airports are crucial, but honestly the express package haulers need a break too! I have a Fedex MD-11 that needs some serious hours put on it. KMEM
Where are my friends that agreee with me! lol
Regards.

GO Houston :)
-
Definitely Newark! 8)
-
Hi There,
1) Hartsfield - Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
2) Salt Lake City.
3) Toronto Lester B. Peasrson International Airport.
-
Definitely Seattle for me. I fly as part of the Alaska Virtual Airlines and quite a few of us have the FSDT KLAX scenery and we are always discussing how it would be sweet to have the KSEA scenery be just as fantastic as KLAX.
-d
-
I voted for Houston. I agree that someone also needs to develop KATL, since it is a Major US airport. FSDT has developed KLAX, KORD and KJFK. KATL should be placed of their short list of future developments. FYI, FlyTampa is presently developing Toronto. It looks like that development is well under way. FSX users definitely have a bright future of enjoyment ahead of us. Cheers!
-
Newark for sure. Would be so good with the FSDT JFK.

Hmm.. has anyone made an updated Sky Harbor (KPHX)? that might be worth it.. I haven't checked in a while, but I know that the old SimFlyers scenery is well out of date.
Also, has anyone made Anchorage?

Dude...seriously?? I'll give you a hint... actually two hints;
Flightbeam and Aerosoft

As I have indicated many times before, I wish for KIAH (Houston), mainly because I live in this area and have been there so many times. I have also been to many of the other airports that have been done and try not to be so disappointed when KIAH is not done with serious quality.
I am also curious about what truthfully are the factors that developers consider when deciding what airport to do? I imagine "$" is at the top of the list but what next - size, traffic, location, or uniqueness?
-
SEATTLE!
Seattle, in my opinion, would be by far the best. Next door to CYVR for some AWESOME flights, and no payware for FSX so far. It would go nicely with FTX PNW. As well, it's the largest hub for Alaska Airlines. To add on to all of this, it would create a range of AWESOME FS sceneries along the west coast (CYVR, KSEA, KSFO, KLAX, KLAS, KPHX), and, soon, LVFR KSAN. My top choice BY FAR is KSEA.
-
I would love to see Seattle too but someone mentioned that FlyTampa might redo theirs so if thats the case better they do it so theres not two developers working on the same airport.

Seattle would be nice, but considering its even more intense of an area than Vancouver, especially with ORBX's PNW involved, I can only imagine how close it would put a lot of users into OOM land if there were using the NGX. There would have to be lots of memory saving options like what FSDT did with the Vancouver patch to make is usable. As is stands now, flying the NGX into Seattle with just the NGX and ORBX PNW, it can be pretty hard on FPS. If you add a detailed 3rd party airport to the mix and sprinkle in a fair amount of AI and some bad weather, I dont see how you would manage to get more than 20 FPS at the most. If you had to trim some settings to get good performance out of Vancouver, Seattle would probably require more trimming to get a good experience.

Dude, yes, seriously.
I guess I must apologize to you for not being up on scenery lately. Perhaps my wife and I should forgo our responsibilities as parents to a 2 year old and 9 month old with structural issues causing her to have to see a chiropractor every other week for the first 9 months of her life so I can devote all of my time back to flightsimming.

I think Miami is crucial!
Have you not seem KMIA by latinvfr? http://www.latinvfr.org/sceneries/miami/
I bought it and am quite happy with the effort they have put in.....
I believe that after they finish San Diego that they will be further updating Miami.....

I am happy with the looks of it, although I did make my own photo real ground textures to surround the airport and blend better with my GEX textures and also tweaked the AFCAD by removing all the default objects that were placed to improve performance, but still even doing that the FPS are not very good on my rig. I believe the update they are doing after KSAN is done will be to improve the FPS. Hopefully that will make it work a lot better. As is stands now, I barely use the airport since I can barely maintain 20 FPS with no AI which is a little to low for me.
-
I am really hoping for Houston. It is such an over looked city, especially for being
Continentals... I mean Uniteds largest hub. Plus it has a huge growing list of international carriers that are adding the city.
-
KATL
KMIA
Both these have been done already & are in really good shape.. Imaginesim has ATL
LatinVFR has MIA & both are really good.. No need for ATL or MIA to be done.. For there already out there..

GO Houston :)
Go Lindberg, Thanks for the support in Houston IAH.. Yea, can hardly wait for IAH to get done so we have life like Houston, be nice to have jetways that will actually pull up to my airplane & see the monorail moving up top & life like buiding scenery.. :)

While I would love to see a very nice Denver I voted for KIAH the last time this was done was by SimFlyers back in 2002
-
I voted Newark.
-
So far only US/Canadian airports are mentioned.... How 'bout a little love for:
EHAM (Aerosoft version is not even close to FSDT standard)
LTBA
HECA
NZAA
YSSY
RJAA
LSGG (update)

That's because the poll is for what US airports you would like to see FSDT make next.
There is another poll for international airports. However both of these are not "official" polls so it might not really make any difference what you vote for.

Hi,
My vote is for KSLC
-
I would also like to see KSLC. Never been done as a payware airport, seasons where snow is appropriate, Delta hub, great surrounding scenic area to fly into, not too big compared to other potential airports, excellent payware (KLAX, KPHX, KDEN, KPDX, CYVR, KLAS) airports and good freeware (KONT, KSNA) not too far away makes a good candidate.

Where do you live. I live in the area too. Do you go plane spotting off of Lee Rd? Scenery would be nice. Flying over FM1960 on final. Making that final approach turn of Lake Houston into George Bush.

HI,
for me, KEWR and KSEA.

I don't think anyone is going to do KSEA. KEWR is ok.....but KDEN or KIAH would be better. Both have an outstanding United Hub..

Hoping for KEWR...
KSEA seems very unlikely, since FlyTampa has passed on it - for obvious reasons...

seattle all the way

I know this post was last month but I think you are way off with that one.....
Unless Martin over at FT has taken up the challenge (have seen no post unfortunately), George is currently doing Sydney Airport.......
Do you have a link stating that CYYZ is well under way as would love to see some Screenshots :)
-
Imaginesim already has KDEN v2 out and it's nicely done IMHO.
I vote for KIAH, for sentimental reasons. I grew up around that place and was there when Rwy 9-27 was built in the 80's. KIAH is the reason for my aviation interest.
I would also like to see something different out of FSDT - a combo pack (similar to the Hawaii airport packs) including Aspen (KASE) and Eagle-Vail (KEGE) would be great. They are popular destinations with challenging approaches and departures, and they appeal to both commercial and GA pilots.

Not if you live/lived in Denver it's not. It's ok at best. But still need a lot of work. :-\
-
I understand why Seattle is so tough, but KSEA and KPDX will always be my dream ticket to fill the gap in the West coast with quality add-ons already at KSAN, KLAX, KSFO and CYVR with PANC and PHNL to boot.
-
Phase 1 of the new Terminal B in Houston has been completed. Finally a cool picture & reminds me alot of a In Progress picture from what it would look like on FSX preview photo rather than a real life picture of it.. Never the less here is a picture of the new Terminal B South Concourse KIAH Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airlines..
Still thankfully one of our hubs however wish they kept it as a home to United/Continental like it always was for Continental itself instead HQ moving to Chicago.. Either way still Continental to me.. Still has Continental colors & Logo & run by COA CEO.. :)
-
KSEA!
-
KSEA!
KIAH....Will not be seeing KSEA no time sone.

In complete agreement with you, I like to purchase scenery that is with in flying reach of other airports. KSEA would be another stop on the west coast indeed, but it hardly fills a gap since it is very close to CYVR and about 583nm from KSFO (used the measure tape in google earth lol). But I like that it gives you another flight destination option on the west coast, that is why I am with you.
KIAH would only compliment KDFW as its closest neighbor and the next available scenery to fly into would be KORD or KATL about 586nm -868nm away and from there isnt much of a cluster of other airports to do regional flights to. Just Tampa and Washington area. Not much fun there! When I make a decision to purchase a new scenery before I click on "Submit" I use Google Earth to see where can I fly to from the scenery and if it is an isolated geographic area with neighbors, that kinda turns me away from saying "YES" as in the case of Vancouver CYVR lovely scenery but I just dont have airport options to enhance the fun! Sorry FSDT but I went with Fly Tampa Montreal which is closer to KBUF, KBOS and freeware CYQB! CYVR to PANC or KSFO would be a long and boring flight. Once that west coast gap starts to fill in with more destinations is when I will look at CYVR!
-
Guys, check this; KIAH is coming ;) I wonder what Mir at Flightbeam will make then?
http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=8492.15

I don't think Mir had much interest in doing KIAH he had said at one time, trying to make that airport would make him quit or something to that effect. I believe he said he had some interest in doing KDEN but who knows. I would personally like to see him do KDEN since the current one is not up to par with the current sceneries out there.
