As usual, the first think to do, is to check the antivirus:

- Uninstall the scenery. Reply YES when asked if you want to remove the Addon Manager and the Couatl Engine. Reply YES to both questions.

- TURN OFF your antivirus. Don't just exit from its interface, but turn off the real time protection. Actual wording changes between products, however, it's the option to scan every file that gets open in real time, without user intervention.

- Reinstall the scenery with the Antivirus TURNED OFF. Don't launch FSX yet.

- Configure the antivirus to exclude the following files from scanning:

YourFSXFolder\bglmanx.dll
YourFSXFolder\fsdreamteam\couatl.exe

YourFSXFolder it's usually C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X, if you installed it in the default folder.

- Now you can turn the antivirus back on, and launch FSX.

- Check you are seeing BOTH the "Addon Manager" menu AND the "Couatl powered plugins" menu under the "Addons" menu.

This means the Addon Manager (bglmanx) works, it's just Couatl that doesn't. Please confirm this, you should see the Addon Manager menu, but not the Couatl menu.

Check the following folder:

 %APPDATA%\VIRTUALI

and see if you have a Couatl.err file inside, if yes, please post its content.

Ok, we are checking it, because it's really the first time we saw this error.

i succed
what i have done
i have created a new fsx.exe by doing a copy and named it fsx_liners.exe
and make a copy of standard.xml in liners.xml and launching fsx_liners.exe a new fsx_liners.cfg was created
i have ultimate traffic2 and i didnt see the traffic created
may be that is the reason
i continue to investigate

It's possible your fsx.cfg was corrupted ? In this case, try to simply remove it, and fsx would create a new one from scratch, without having to use a renamed fsx.exe

I have the same problem.  I purchased Zurich X last Friday and installed it no problems.  Whwn I start FSX, buildings show up however If I go into the Couatl menu and press "key mapping" I get error message stating that the Couatl must close because of error loading. Of course the buildings then disappear.

Fred

So no, you don't have the same problem at all. Your Couatl runs fine, but it crashes only when selecting "key mappings". Do you see any error message when it crashes ? If yes, which one ?

Check the following folder:

 %APPDATA%\VIRTUALI

and see if you have a Couatl.err file inside, if yes, please post its content.

Where is the %APPDATA%\VIRTUALI  located?

Where is the %APPDATA%\VIRTUALI  located?

In %APPDATA%\Virtuali...

Just type this in the Windows search box or in any Explorer address bar and press Enter, and it should open that correct folder.

Or, open just %APPDATA% and see if you have a Virtuali folder there.

Checked the location and no Couatl.err file inside.

As I stated earlier, The buildings are there when I start up FSX as well as the Couatl menu in the "Add-on" link within FSX.

If I don't press the "key mapping" link, than all is well. but as soon as I do press that link, Couatl stops working and must close down.  The building than disappear and can not be re-couped until FSX is re-started.

Also come to think of it, I have the Wilco Evolution Airbus series installed.  The gates don't seem to line up on the aircraft entrance properly either.  Does that have anything to do with where the aircraft is placed near the Gate?

Fred

Hi,

I have the same problem. reinstalled ZürichX. It says its installed and activated. I don't see %Appdata%/Virtuali folder.
cuatl is installed, but I don't see the menu within fsx. But I do see addonmanager.

Please get me some help. Fresh install of fsx and ZürichX didn't solve the problem

I'm using Win7 64 bit fresh FSX SP2 with just FSDT ZürichX latest installable file.

kind regards

Butze

If you see the Addon Manager but not Couatl, it's surely the antivirus, be sure to follow these steps to the letter, don't skip any step, especially the installation with the antivirus turned off entirely.
