Title: ADDON uknown causing CUATL SCRIPTING engine to restart **SOLVED**

Hi,
since the last update to Version 3.3.8 the couatl scripting engine always crashes while positioning an aircraft at an airport (no matter which aircraft or airport).
Attached are two Screenshots, one is showing the last lines of the err-file and the err-File itself.

Any help is really apreciated. :-)

I'm seeing the same error every time start using GSX.

It's not possible you would be getting that error if all your files are updated so, it can only mean your local cloudflare node is not yet fully updated, but it will surely be very shortly and for these issues you can use the Offline Installer, linked in:

- The home page of this site

- The main download page for MSFS products

- The Sticky thread in this section

Having the same issue since updating GSX to 3.3.8, tried reinstalling with no luck. This is the error:

I have the exact same problem. I used the Installer from the forum AND the offline installer and I have this error:

I get the same error as this every time I get to the main menu in MSFS 2020 and 2024. I end up closing Couatl, as the error message continues to popup.
Like the others, I've also downloaded and installed the offline installer. Just in case, I also restarted my PC, but the error is the same.

Ah well for me version 3.3.8 no longer appears in the installer, 3.3.7 is indicated in latest

I can only repeat and confirm, it's not possible you would be getting that error if all your files are updated so, it can only mean your local cloudflare node is not yet fully updated, but it will surely be very shortly and for these issues you can use the Offline Installer, linked in:

Thanks Umberto, today it did work. Yesterday I've even tried the offline installer which didn't resolve the issue. But now it's all good! :-)

MSFS2024, pre-3.3.8 was working fine. Now I get Couatl errors even when choosing liveries for a free flight. Now I loaded a flight in Fenix A319 and Couatl keeps giving me this error:

Last night whilst loading and pushing back, Couatl crashed about 20 times on MFS2024. I just gave up and didn't use it at all. Majority of the time there was no crash error or anything. I was clicking the menu buttons and then the menu would disappear, open it up again click a menu button then it would disappear. Looked at the taskbar to then see that Couatl wasn't running. Relaunched Couatl, pressed some menu buttons, and then same thing happens.

Definitely something seriously wrong with the 3.3.8 update.

MSFS2024, another Couatl error straight after loading the simulator. I wish I could revert back to 3.3.7.

I've both MSFS2020 and MSFS2024 installed and have followed the instructions given to download the standalone version of Addon manager. I've downloaded the file from both locations (just to be sure I've tried everything) and I've also tried uninstalling GSX Pro and re-installing. I've also tried the live update for both the MSFS2020 and MSFS2024 store versions. I've also gone into GSX config and ensured all seated passenger planes are up-to-date.

I also have the MSFS SDKs installed, so have ensured that these are up-to-date with the latest version, in case that might be the issue. I also use MSFS Addons Linker to share compatible sceneries and liveries between 2020 and 2024, in case that might be a factor, however, Addon manager is installed outside of this independently, so I'm assuming it won't be an issue.

GSX Pro 3.3.8 works properly in MSFS2020, but MSFS2024 continues to give errors likes this:

I appreciate how difficult it must be to problem solve every configuration, so hopefully this additional information will help find a resolution

I've just updated GSX pro to latest version. It crashes on starirs request at KSDF with the Inibuids A300. Please see log file. I'm not sure whats happening.

Hi,

I'm facing the same issue since I've updated to vers. 3.3.8. I've tried a complete reinstall of GSX and also used the offline installer to update addons but nothing helps.

I've attached the Couatl error log. Any way to fix this issue ?

If its not showing up, Umberto has probably pulled the update before more people download it.

I have ran the live updater with and without my firewall on, I have done a complete reinstall with firewall off, I have checked on my other products and all of them run perfectly fine. Frankly not very pleased that I have been sitting for 5 hours here attempting to fix a product that I bought just 6 days ago and was working fine till the update appeared. Since latest update which I installed today, GSX is crashing anytime you make a selection in the GSX menu. Discord blowing up with numerous people reporting the same. GSX is currently inop.

This seems to be affecting IniBuilds A350, PMDG 777, Headwind A339 and FBW A380. But Fenix A320 etc and PMDG 737 appear to not have the same problem. So perhaps a wide body issue??

Hello guys,

I have the same problem in MSFS2020. GSX crashed as soon as I selected the ground handler. I've tried to update with the offline installer and let the installer check the files but nothing worked. As of now, I can't use GSX with the latest update 3.3.8.

Additionally, the warning that Couatl Scripting engine to restart do you want to open log, I click No. Then do you want to restart Couatl I click NO, but the UI keeps returning every 15 seconds asking the same thing over and over again. It's very annoying. Would like to see that rectified soon. If I click No, that means No.

It's exactly the same story with version 3.3.8. In MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024, it crashes immediately. Reinstalling does not help.

I am having the same issue, can we please have a way of rolling back the version to 3.3.7, it is plain to see something is wrong with the 3.3.8 update given the number of people having issues with the GSX crashing.  If a Rollback is not possible then take the 3.3.8 update off the updater and return the current available update to 3.3.7 so we can uninstall GSX and reinstall GSX at Version 3.3.7.

Perhaps I missed something, but I have been unable to update to 3.3.8. It keeps showing .7 as the latest version even after using the latest standalone installer and live updater

I have also had this issue this morning. Updated through the live update installer. Ran the latest Offline installer still same outcome. This happens when I select start boarding after loading in Simbrief.

Don’t at the moment. Stick with 3.3.7 until it’s fixed. Lots of issues

For what it's worth, my GSX is crashing only when trying to fly the inibuilds A350.

inibuilds recently rolled out a new update to their plane (1.0.5) which says in the update notes that there is better GSX integration. However, their FAQ also notes:

"A recent GSX update will cause issues with some behaviour. Please await an update GSX side for the changes in this build to take effect."

GSX runs fine for me with other aircraft right now.

I had the same problem yesterday and was able to resolve it by running the FSDT Live Update with admin rights. Hope this can help you as well.

this is unacceptable

everytime they push out an update it breaks everything and it's always our fault, never theirs.

having the same problem and some people only have limited time on their hands to do some flight simming in their free time and it's simply not possible as we have to face issues all over again and can't even simply fix them with a rollback or something.

fsdt should really put some effort in and give their PAYING customers software that works and gives no troubles or headaches.

I am also experiencing the same issue at LLBG. Tried it with and without GSX profiles for the airport and still had crashes.

Nobody knows.

A350 is broken now since this update... I just uninstalled GSX. You can go to Inibuilds' forums and they have some workarounds, if that's part of your issue.

Coutl doesn't auto-start anymore either.

I've done this. Still have the same issue that everyone here is complaining about. And it worked fine when I flew a couple of times earlier today. But tonight, it keeps crashing since I chose to fly the A350 from Inibuilds.
Edit: Tried with other aircraft - no longer works. GSX is unusable now.

So I've discovered that the crash only happens when using the iniBuilds A350. With other aircraft GSX works fine, at least for me.

Yeah I have tried multiple aircraft and airports, I can't get it to work at all.

MSFS 2024, GSX crashes every time I use it with the Inibulids A350. I tried reinstalling GSX and the A350 and running the GSX live update, nothing helps. GSX works fine with the Fenix A320.

You can try to set loading staff to "none" in the GSX menu. That was finally the workaround for the PMDG 777.

Well i found the problem for me for the inibuilds A350 it was the Loader so i changed it to belt loader now GSX works. Go to Customize Airport Positions then change the Front and back loader to belt loader.

So I keep getting these errors when trying to operate GSX. I do run the LIVE UPDATER as is recommended in the error and I accept having the C-engine restart and yet this error keeps popping up every-time I go to request a service. I have included a log file.

What is the solution to resolving this.

Please try not to open dozen of identical new threads about the same issue, when one has been already opened, because it makes following the forum difficult for everybody. I merged all the identical threads that has been opened into a single one.

The problem has been found and yes, it affected cargo loaders using ULDs, will be fixed very shortly, probably in the next hour or so.

That error doesn't have anything to do with that has been reported here, and it's caused because you tried to update before the update is ready (we are still updating now). I said 15 minutes ago it would be ready to install in the next hour or so.

When the update is ready to download, it will visible from the updated release notes.

i just updated gsx to 3.3.9 and still having the same issue also downloaded offline installer to 3.3.8 also its not fixed yet honestly at this point its so frustrating ( i was on 3.3.7 at the beginning and still has the same issue.)

Please don't post a picture of the dialog box, the only important thing there is the actual error log, which you are supposed to always supply when reporting a problem, because it's the only thing that can help understand the cause.

Of course the problem it's solved. Your problem is completely different and doesn't have anything to do with this thread, and it's caused by using an airplane without a profile, which GSX can't work with.

Wanting to give priority to users error reports before releasing new features. In this case the fix was for this problem:

I can only repeat and confirm the problem IS SOLVED. If you are still getting that, it means you don't have the latest update installed so, try the update again and, if it's not fixed yet, it's because your local cloudflare node still haven't got all the latest update.

OK...

I can confirm you the problem is solved. This is what I made :

- Uninstall completly GSX (even if V3.3.9 was installed)
- Reinstall GSX in admin mode

And now it works.
