Hi I just installed and paid for GVA and Zurich
Every time I try to open FSX it crashes (A Fatal Error occured message comes up) HELP !!!
I run windows 7
-
- Have you turned OFF your antivirus when installing the scenery and/or the updated Addon Manager ?
- Have you configured your Antivirus to ignore the following files, before trying to run FSX again ?
\Your_FSX_folder\fsdreamteam\Couatl\couatl.exe
\Your_FSX_folder\bglmanx.dll
- Have you seen the question about trusting the Addon Manager when you installed the new version ?
- Have you replied YES to that question ?
- Have you done the same for Couatl ?
-
yes to all
-
Have you tried to reboot Windows ? Have you tried launching FSX a couple of times ? What message do you see, exactly ?
If you see the message about a module might not safe to run, just ignore it and ALLOW the module to run anyway. Eventually, retry again after a Windows reboot.
-
The message that I see is: A fatal error occurred
the details are:
Files that help describe the problem
C:\Users\Me\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\fdr.dat
C:\Users\Me\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\dll.xml
FSX will not work..it work perfect before I spent $64 on these two beautiful sceneries

There are not enough details on what program has crashed. You should also have something named "error signature".
FSX will not work..it work perfect before I spent $64 on these two beautiful sceneries
The reason why all our products are available in Trial version, is that you can test their compatibility with your system BEFORE purchasing them. That they are sold as Try-before-buy, is clearly indicated on our Home page, and on every Info page of every scenery.
-
worked fine on trial
GVA was perfect...could see the AI traffic....so was Zurich
After I paid and installed the serial (Auto on GVA and manually in ZRH) that is when everything started
now the fsx crashes ....

Sorry, but that's just not possible. There's no difference whatsoever in the program between Trial and Full version, nothing in the program changes, at all.
If it worked fine in the Trial, than the problem is caused by something else, and the fact that happened after you purchased the sceneries, is just a coincidence.
BTW, do you have the Error Signature details about which module has crashed, as I've asked in the previous message ?
-
GVA worked fine reinstalled the add on manager
rebooted twice now ZRH is working
Mille grazie
-
Unfortunately same thing
FSX starts for a minute then crashes
it is definitely the add on manager because if I replace the dll.xml and the exe.xml with the before the add one ones ones then i am fine
any suggestions?
-

No, it's not the Addon Manager. It's something in your system that is *affecting* it.
Asking for the third time: do you have the Error Signature details about which module has crashed, as I've asked in the previous two messages ?
-
I understand you asked for the third time but I get no error signature
Just says fatal error and reboots
will try it again and see
-
Still fatal crash asfter fatal crash
No error message or signature is there a way to get it?
Please help I am desperate
It all started after the installtion of the beautiful scenary HELP
-
Still FSX crashes
If I delete the add on manage all is well can anybody help PLEASE
-
There's another thread, where an user was able to fix the crash, by setting FSX to run into Vista sp2 compatibility mode.
-
Thanks but I run windows 7
How can I do that
-
Right-click on the FSX.EXE executable, then select the Compatibility tab, and enable Vista sp2 compatibility.
-
Thank you
Just did that FSX will not even start ...
-
Then sorry, I'm afraid your situation is different, and we don't have other explanation for it.
Try this:
- Go into Control Panel, remove the Addon Manager, if you have an entry for it. Otherwise, remove both sceneries.
- Go into the FSX folder, verify that ALL bglmanx.dll files AND all the bglmanx*.dat files have been really removed. If not, removed them manually.
- Reboot Windows. Yes, this IS important. Do it, please.
- Turn the Antivirus OFF. Yes, this IS important.
- Reinstall the Addon Manager (or the sceneries you removed). Don't run FSX yet.
- Configure the antivirus to ignore the following files:
YourFSXFolder\bglmanx.dll
YourFSXFolder\fsdreamteam\Couatl\couatl.exe
- Launch FSX. At the request to Trust the Addon Manager, reply YES, to both question, the one by Windows and the one by FSX itself.
- If you get the error the 3rd party module can't be loaded, IGNORE IT, and ALLOW it to run, regardless of what it says. Don't worry if FSX crashes after having issued that message. It doens't matter.
- Keep trying and, allow 20-30 seconds between each tries. If after 3-4 times it's always the same, REBOOT Windows and try again. Yes, this IS important, do it please.
-
Thank you
However I managed to run it at compatibility for Vista SP 2 it took a very long time a reboot and still takes a long time to load ? however got the same fatal error
so frustrating
Will follow your directions, however I have two questions
1. shall I run it on Vista compatibilty?
2. All was fine after i reinstalled the addon manager today HOWEVER before the crashes started again I added a scenery and after that the problems started _I added My Traffic
Do you think it might have something to do with it?
-
Hi again
did all step by step
still fatal error
-
Unistalled FSX
reinstalled everything -over 2 hours >:(
worked fine

You are reading the issue backwards: it's not the Addon Manager that makes both FSX and the video drivers crashing, it's probably something in your Windows installation that cause the crash: there's no way the Addon Manager, which is a normal executabie (so it runs in the normal application space), can crash the video drivers, that runs on an entirely different privilege level.
If the problem is happening in Windows, reinstalling FSX will not fix it.
-
Thanks
as i said it runs fine when i delete the addon manager....so no geneva and zurich scene for me I loved them
-
as i said it runs fine when i delete the addon manager....
As I've said, that doesn't mean much, something in Windows is *causing* the Addon Manager to crash, and the video driver (according to your report). And this makes FSX crashing because any .dll module that crashes, will make FSX crashes, regardless of the reason.
Your error is different from anyone else's because, according to your report, is a crash without any messages.
However, you should at least have seen the Windows crash window, that has an option to get additional details about the error. Do you have this ? What does it says ?
-
there is no message when it crashes
Is there somewhere where I can search,
-
there is no message when it crashes
You said:
Just says fatal error
If it says "fatal error", it means you are seeing a window with a message. This window should also have an option to get additional informations about the crash.
-
I get no message and no option
I get a fatal crash screen saying windows is looking for additional information and then I get another message that FSX will start again
-
I get no message and no option
According to what you wrote in the following line, you DO get a message.
I get a fatal crash screen saying windows is looking for additional information and then I get another message that FSX will start again
That's the message. Now we finally agree you DO get a message, you should have seen something like this:
http://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq311/WMP_Crash/wmperrorscrn.gif (http://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq311/WMP_Crash/wmperrorscrn.gif)
Do you see the small arrow that allows you to enlarge the Window to read the error details ? Do you have it ?
-
I only get the Fatal crash then windows is looking to a solution
without the rest (all the other lines you normally get) which is mind blowing
Immediately after that I get a message that FSX restarts
Again sorry if I sound like a fool more of a mac person the only reason i bought a pc is because of the FSX and windows 7 is driving me insane

I'm a mac user too, and I use Windows for FSX only (on a Mac...)
You might be able to find the error details in the Event Viewer. Open the Control Panel, select "System and Maintenance", select "Administrative Tools", and launch the Event Viewer.
You should be able to find the envent related to the FSX crash in the middle column, which contains all your system event.
-
Also I will be happy to pm you my gotomypc details if you wish...
This is driving me insane
-
Ok, just send me a PM.
-
For those interested: we found Makisxenat's problem ( I logged into his PC using GotoMyPc service ), and it was related to the issue with the Audio Environment product that was already discussed here:
http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=2805.0
Changing the loading order of the modules, solved the problem.
