Title: Can we have the good looking catering trucks, please?
Post by: Brokenbroccoli on October 13, 2022, 06:32:12 pm
I noticed, there are two different catering truck models. One of them looks VERY good (Scania) and one of them looks like a goofy wish-frankenstein MAN catering truck in comparison. Unfortunately, my plane only gets served by the latter and AI planes get served by the nice looking one. Can you switch the models so the players plane gets serviced by the good looking one?

I can't upload screenshots somehow, you can find them here: https://imgur.com/a/YIU724v

Everybody has his own opinions about what looks good and what doesn't. For me, the one you call "goofy" MAN looks better than the Scania/Mallaghan, which is used only for bigger planes, like in reality ( that's a 777/747/A380-class vehicle ).

If you want to alter reality and place the huge vehicle on smaller planes, keeping in mind its platform cannot go lower than a certain height, you can play with the "condition" lines in the SIM.CFG of the vehicle ( the Scania is called CT8000 ), in a SIMILAR way as explained here:

However, keep in mind that, every change you do, will be overwritten when updating GSX.

Thanks, I'll try that.Sorry about the "goofy" - didn't meant to be offensive.

You work together with Simultech, right? He has a very nice looking MAN model, maybe you could use this?

His MAN together with your Scania model would be PERFECT.

It's already included in GSX as a Refueler truck for planes with lower wings, perhaps we might add it as an extra Catering variation as well.

I had a similar experience where the look and functionality of a truck were crucial for my needs.

Recently, I was in the market for a trailer for my business. The new models available didn't meet my expectations regarding cost and appearance. This led me to explore used equipment options. I found a great deal on a 2016 Ford F-250 from Boom and Bucket's used equipment offerings (https://www.boomandbucket.com/equipment/trucks). It was affordable at $16,200 and had the robust and professional look I was aiming for. This truck has been an excellent addition to my business, combining reliability, cost-effectiveness, and a professional appearance.
