Title: JFK Localizer Alignment
Post by: mikpen14 on February 28, 2017, 05:26:53 am
I flew into JFK tonight on Vatsim and was vectored to the ILS 22R approach.

Once I establish on the localizer (charts indicate heading 222 - 109.50ILS) I had the AP take me in.

As I got closer I noticed that I was off to the right of the runway, actually almost to the tower. I disconnected the AP and got Concorde lined up and flew her in by hand.

Is this a known issue, or is there something I need to do to correct it?

It was my first trip into JFK using P3D.

Thanks

222 may be the ILS heading but the runway heading is 225, it's an offset localizer. Notice that the minimums are also higher than a regular ILS.

Thanks for the clarification Dave, that explains it. The problem was between the seat and the yoke! :-[
