Title: When looking from above the buildings and vehicles fall through the scenery.
Post by: yosm on June 09, 2016, 07:43:48 pm
Hello,

I use JFK V2 and YVR and Flightbeam KSFO HD in P3D V3.3.

The issue that i have is that when I pan the camera up or use the top-down view the buildings, jetways and verhicles fall through the ground. (see attached pciture).
Then when i either pan down again or switch views back to outside the plane drops from a few meters high and smashes into the ground. all buildings and vehilces are then back normal again.

I have this with both sceneries JFK and YVR. but not with SFO.

I tried reinstalling both sceneries and it did not help.

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Thank you!

That's not a problem, and there's nothing you can do to fix it, since there's nothing to fix. To prevent heavy ground flickering, the ground polygons raise so, if you look from top-down, they will eventually cover the vehicles, that's normal, and it has always been like this in all our sceneries.

Thank you for your reply.

I have these sceneries installed for quite Some time and never noticed before that this happened, until installing V3.2 of P3D.

I used the top down view many times before but never had the smashing into the ground of the plane. Until V3.2 of P3d.

Does this also explain why Some buildings dissapear?

I can understand that to counter the ground flickering the plane wheel would sink into the ground a bit. But mine is completely gone or floating.

I Will from now on just not look at the plane from above when in outside view.

How about Some jetways and Some buildings dissapearing? Is that something that is also explained through this?

The sceneries haven't changed

I don't have any smashing into the ground, with P3D 3.3.5.

the smallest buildings might just go under the raised ground.

the top-down view is like an extremely high point of view, but we designed the raising of ground based on normal approach heights.

I Will try and capture the smashing into the ground with pictures or a video

There's no need to do that. I believe you have it in your system. I just don't see it here.

But if you dont have then it mist be something wrong with the scenery...

Otherwise you would have the same.
