Hey Virtuali
Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but has KLAS been Upgraded-Updated yet (as of July 2015)? Its such a major hub for bizz jets and airliners. Thanks!
You have such great airports that I would focus on upgrading Hawaii, Vegas, and others instead of making new ones. But, that's just my opinion. Thanks Virtuali.

This has been discussed several times on the forum, and we confirmed we'll *start* working on a KLAS update, after KMEM is released.

We need both new products and updates, which is why, we basically alternate between them ( ex. CYVR -> JFK V2 -> KIAH -> KMEM -> KLAS V2, etc. )

After KMEM is released? But there isn't even a backdoor thread open for it yet :'(

Shouldn't KLAS V2 come after KIAH then? ;)
Not trying to be rude or anything, just really looking forward to the update as KLAS is my home airport. Would love to see Terminal 3 and all those buildings (Konami, etc.) right along the runway.

Houston was released just over a year ago, Memphis is next and the Vegas update is after that.

Check the wink for the joke. He's talking about alphabetical order. :)

Ah yes

Actually I wasn't thinking about alphabetical order, but nice that you caught that!
I was talking about how since they basically alternate between new airports and updates, KLAS update should come after KIAH.
The absence of Terminal 3 makes the airport feel quite antiquated, since it was opened 3+ years ago.

I'm glad to see that Las Vegas is getting an upgrade. With the International terminal being moved an all. I'm sure its going to look great. :D
-
Now that KMEM is out do you have any idea of timeframes for the long awaited KLAS update? I am sure you are bored now that KMEM is out (hahahahaha) ;D.
Thanks so much for all the great airports! KMEM is the bomb!

We decided to go with the KORD remake first, then KLAS. Sorry, but KORD is in more dire need to be updated (new runway), while KLAS is "only" missing a terminal.

Where does KSDF fit in on the timeline?

Where does KSDF fit in on the timeline?
It's done by a different team than KLAS/KORD.

Umberto,
I hope postponing KLAS v2 AGAIN is just a bad joke - we've been waiting for years now, some of us even buying the outdated version in expectation of YOUR word that work would start after KMEM release!
Please re-think that.

They never promised that LAS would be the first one updated post-MEM. They just said it would be worked on sometime after MEM. If you really need the new terminal you can add it to the scenery using ADE or you can use one of the AFCADs on Avsim.

The word is still valid: "work would start after KMEM release" only means that it would not start *before*, not that it would have been the FIRST in line to be updated. We always said that BOTH KORD and KLAS are the one that will be updated next and, IMOH, KORD missing a whole runway is FAR more pressing of the new terminal at KLAS.
From an aeronautical point of view, KLAS is still perfectly usable as it is now (no runway changes), while KORD is outdated and doesn't match current charts and procedures anymore, which will cause way more issue to users, and I'm sure many bought KORD too, following our promise to have it updated.
It's just that we simply cannot do the two at once, and KORD is more in need of an update.

Looking forward to both ORD and LAS updates/upgrades I will be ready to buy once they come out.
Thanks again for updating them both.

I got a good deal from JFK v1 to v2, will that still be available? Can't wait for ORD v2 and LAS v2, both of which I own.
-
Very disappointed.... been waiting so long for this. From an amateur's standpoint (so don't flame me for this), a new terminal is more important than another runway. ORD already has several runways, just go with the old procedures and use one of those....
It feels very unrealistic taxiing to Terminal 2, which closed four years ago and was demolished this year. It's a small terminal with only four widebody gates, ancient compared to the current facility and the amount of international service that LAS has now. Also, it's not just a new terminal that has come up at LAS, a new control tower has been erected and will be opened in October. Much taller than the original, which will be closed.
I purchased this product a while back but now have it disabled, instead using the default airport with freeware Terminal 3 and the new control tower courtesy Ray Smith. More realistic honestly.
Excited to wait another indefinite period of time ::)

Maybe by the time that FSDT decides to redo KLAS, the airport will already have all their buildings rebuilt, so it will be up to date again ...
-
I'd also rather have Vegas than Chicago, but if they can sell more ORD update then I understand the reason for releasing that first. Hope both are updated early next year if not earlier! would be great.

It's more than that, but it also just comes down to bad timing for KLAS. When it was released, it was based on photos taken and mapping at that time. However, even those photos and mapping were out of date, because when it was released, the new highspeeds were built off of 25L/7R, instead of having 90-degree taxiways. A3 used to be a full-on 90-degree intersection, not the highspeed that it is now. I'd also have to go back and look, but at the time, Z didn't exist, and there also wasn't that big of a displaced threshold for 19R. So in a sense, it wsa already outdated to begin with, though still could function, given the detail that Umberto and the crew put into it.
Now, there definitely is enough that needs to be done for an upgrade, but don't count on the new tower to open anytime soon. They found some mistakes in the construction of it, relating to the prevention of fungus growing in the interior walls. opening has been delayed until early to mid 2017.

If the new LAS could include: Downtown modelling, a lot of new buildings. Of course the new airport layout and buildings. Also the cargo ramp with the Ameriflight and West Air FedEx Feeders parking spots. More biz jet parking, the heliports, Signature parking, parking ramps for Sheldon Adelson's toys. The Janet ramp was modelled but did not have WWW as the parking codes or big enough for 737-600s.

Note that that article is from 2014. The problem has been fixed and the tower opened on August 28, 2016.

Guys, besides the update to,ter, inals, runways, etc, has there been any update to installers? I mean is it compatible with P3D 3.4? (And while we're at it, same q about chicago and honolulu).
-
All our products are compatible with the latest P3D 3.4.
The only file that needs to be updated for compatibility with new builds of the sim, is the Addon Manager module ( bglmanx.dll ), and that is always automatically downloaded by the installers so, even if your installer is not the very latest version, as long as it support P3D V3, it will work on 3.4
