Title: Incorrect gate position at UK2000 EGLL Xtreme ver 3
Post by: WebMaximus on September 04, 2014, 07:32:49 pm
I think this has been discussed before but on last flight into UK2000 EGLL Xtreme ver 3 I was directed to gate 305 and I taxied into the gate but when I brought up the GSX menu it didn't think I was parked at a gate.

I later tried having GSX slew me into correction and I then ended up like this and looking at the scenery this doesn't match a correct parking position so is there any way I can learn GSX where the correct parking position is for a specific gate?

You should first check if GSX is using the AFCAD that comes with the scenery, with the scenery customization page.

GSX uses F:/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X/UK2000 scenery/UK2000 Heathrow Xtreme/scenery/egll_AFX_UK2xTRM.bgl which seems to be correct as far as I can tell.

This is what it looks like if I ask AES to position the a/c in the correct location but then as you can see GSX will no longer realize I'm parked at a gate.

GSX checks your airplane position against the parking center, in order to be considered parked, the distance of the airplane reference point from the parking center must be less than 15 meters, so you were probably more distant than that, maybe AES is simply more tolerant.

Ok and is there any chance I can adjust this myself in GSX?

No, there isn't. The issue is, setting it any larger, will risk to have issues if there are small parkings very close together, so GSX would think you were parked in the nearby one.
