Prepar3d v2 Released Today
« on: November 25, 2013, 03:59:13 pm »
Lockheed Martin's Prepar3d version 2 has been released day.  For those not aware, Lockheed Martin brought the rights and coding of Flight Simulator X and have since renamed it Prepar3d or P3D for short.  Seems these guys are working hard to bring FSX up to speed with modern technology.  After flying in P3D for almost a year now, I have to say it's pretty nice.  It runs very smoothly and I have the sim lock up on me only once since I've been using it.  Almost all of your FSX add-ons and programs are compatible with P3D. Anyways, today Lockheed Martin is releasing their next variant of P3D today.  Kinda think of it as Flight Simulator XII for those counting.

A few Q&As for those interested:

Have you been able to get the standard acceleration flols working?

I think there's a bug.  Heard multiple times that it wasn't working.  :-\

Looks like it's a bug. Just curious if the carrier deck lights, as well as my FCLP carrier box lights, are working?
Want it done right? Do it yourself!

I haven't been really tried the standard acceleration carrier, but it seems as though most of the carrier included in AI Carriers seems to have working FLOLS.  I didn't do anything special, I just did the standard install.  No problems so far.

Anyone figure out how to adjust the glide slope angle yet? I know it was a no joy event in fsx.

Jimi
Perhaps by getting the F18 working also fixed the flols. Did you copy anything else in addition to FA-18.dll ?

That was it.  I have the AI Carriers executable on my toolbar at the bottom of the screen.  Other than that, I transferred the boat sim objects to the boat folder.  Hope this helps.

Hey guys - first post. Been lurking here for several years. First, I wanted to say thanks to everyone who's contributed and IMHO, extended the life of FSX by at least 5 years or so.

Second, has anyone figured out a fix for the carrier IFLOLS in P3D? It didn't work in 2.0, it didn't work in 2.1, and it still doesn't work with the 2.1 hotfix DLL's (at least not for me). However, the FLOLS trailers placed with Serge's FCLP scenery DO work... (at least at NALF Fentress).

I've searched here, the FSDeveloper.com forum, the StrikingSoftware forum, the LM forum, and while there are several questions from people who can't get it to work on the default or Javier's carriers, there don't seem to be any answers forthcoming by either the LM dev's or the add-on authors - maybe I'm doing something wrong (or rather, have not done something right) and it's not really a wide-spread issue? I know Jimi said his was working, but I can't figure out what he may have done to get it to work - I've tried everything. Ticked and un-ticked every config option for display settings, updated drivers, re-copied Simobjects, Effects, Gauges, etc.

Any help would be appreciated, and if the answer is 'wait on LM to fix it', I'm cool with that. It's just really hard to fly realistically around the boat with no meatball (mostly Dino's T-45 and F-14 - no offense to you Hornet types). :-)

Thanks!
~Matt
